This is disrespectful to DrFreeze and Dapheel who organize great fightclubs to kick off the EU event on a weekly basis. It's organized and also unique. For example once I was playing, and after winning 3 duels, I was matched up against 2 people not just one (and I actually had no items left at the point), then I beat them, then it was 3v1, and I lost, but it was still a lot of fun.

Even yesterday, doing the forums challenges (btw thanks for the idea jeff) a lot of people were on, and we had fun, watching and playing. Also a very funny chat.

Where are you in all that_

People who play HAWKEN have fun, people who don't wont. Basic logic.

Because the process isn't a sure success even for big development teams, let alone ADH. They're skilled, but it still doesn't change the fact that moving to UE4 won't be any easy.

Maybe it's an attempt, or maybe the engine won't change, but instead the devs are doing a complete rewrite of the HAWKEN code, because AFAIK, when a technical debt is so deep, and a lot of parts of the code must be corrected (even if it's not a big portion of the whole code, but it's spread out all over the packages) then a rewrite is due, and trust me, it ain't easy. It will also probably prevent you from doing changes, because you can't tell if the code for some content that you'll be adding will go along with other parts, because they might need change or are being changed. That could explain why nothing is being added, or the test drives cheeze.

And it's not just that we're having fun, but there are signs that show that some community members are ready to fill the whole, and to make the difference, and they sure did.

It's always possible, and it's fine when people look at things from different angles. Everyone looks at what's "right" from his own stand point, and the ultimate truth is only found when everyone is willing to complete the other person's idea, and not arrogantly refuse it, and stick with it.

240 players in a half an hour isn't good enough_ Brother, at that time, it was 3 AM EST, meaning most of the US players are probably asleep. There was only 1 EU server.

He's obviously talking about houruck's fightclub. But he didn't mention the new alternative for EU. He also totally ignored Sunday sunda deathmatch, and the very recent fight people from the forums fights.

We might have lost that event, but there are 4 others, and they're weekly.

They got tired of the game_ Who are those people_ I see a lot of the EU usuals are still around, and they come to the EU event.




The problem with aregon is that he throws any and all kinds of arguments to serve his point. Right or wrong, suitable or not, it never mattered to him, and that changes the course of the discussions from talking about the ideas, to the detailed arguments, which are the reasons for the long discussions that makes us feel we're running in an empty circle.

This sounds interesting... The silent behaviour might be explained by the  difficulty of the task at hand if it is engine upgrade. Remember how devs often kept stuff hidden before updates cause they were not sure if they can deliver so no promisses. Also this

Well the game is in early access, meaning there is far too much work to be done and little time to explain. It's not a full game that has the base fully functional and they can focus just on DLC's and community relations. They still have a game to finish before they can come and yap away on forums. Besides, they're no AAA game company with thousands of staff and billions of budget so it will take longer for them to accomplish in comparison to AAA studios.
Cut them some slack.
And in my opinion, for a early access game/beta this is very polished compared to other games at the same stage.

Why would I buy a DLC for a game that is bleeding players aggressively and that may or may not be around in the next 3 months_

Toxikk is getting a lot of hype from the Arena shooter fans eg. most of the hawken population that is left and will probably increase the player bleed caused by back to school. Hawken  dev team better pull out one giant rabbit out of their hat.

I'm in that crowd, and from what I gather, a lot of people are. I just have the .exe file on my taskbar. Much faster.

You can find the client (.exe file) in the program files, or trace it from the taskmgr. Myself, I have that file  docked in my taskbar, that's how it's been since a year and a half.

Updates aren't a big problem, even before when we used to get frequent updates, the game would tell me whenever I start it that my version of HAWKEN isn't updated, so I launch steam and update it.
