I have to say that it was interesting seeing the mech balances as we played. At the start of the night everyone was playing their favorite classes and we saw a lot of mech variety, but other than each team running 1 sharpshooter on sahara the general trend was towards A-class mechs with maybe 1 heavy to help take shots when breaking an entrenched point. At one point everyone on both teams was in A-classes (with one Assault on each team, but actually a nice mix of Scouts, Berserkers and Infiltrators) I think this was mainly due to our disinterest in the C-class special ability which shows it either needs major buffs or a total rework. It's too bad AsianJoyKiller couldn't make it as I would have liked to see how someone who mains a C-class right now would have done.

EDIT: Big thanks to all the players who stumbled into our matches and left so that we could continue to arrange teams. Says a lot about the community when we had almost 0 issues with random players joining.

hopefully next week we will be more organised and will have had time to talk strategies amongst ourselves.

I am glad you have made such observations. I was way to focused on the match to notice any of that, i just chose the class i felt most comfortable with. although i had spent 11k points into internals and items before the match in order to have a bit of variety to fit the teams strategy.

I was mostly trying out new mechs this beta, so all I had were
rocketeer(cheap, refuse to use in team matches),
scout(the one I tended to use),
grenadier(more suited to defensive play, and I was dedicated hit man)
assault(lacks internals and a functional consumable, probably would have given me better performance over the scoot).

If I had more credits I'd have a decked out assault, brawler, and infiltrator for team modes.

I honestly would have liked to gone up against a team using rocketeers, we all know they stomp in pubs since it removes aiming, but I feel like most of us hit most of our shots and I am curious how it sits in high skill games.

Never forgiving you guys for making me spend all my MC on stupid mechs in those last  few games. Trying to grind enough HC  for my SS without a booster is absolutely agonizing. That said, I can't wait till Sunday :)
