I'd love to have the option to upload my own avatar. This can be granted in a few different ways:

1-can only do this at lvl 30 (gives the player another incentive to max out and keep playing their mech)

or

2-it costs a bunch of HC to do it or a reasonable amount of real currency

or

3-its a combination of the 2, you can only unlock this ability at lvl 30 and you need the HC to do it

Also bring back in-game GIF sprays like the days of TFC and Quake. Take it from a guy whos spent alot in this game, I'd pay a lil somethin somethin for that.

:D

Not really feasible when you have to screen everyone's avatar that they want to upload. People like me are immature and would put dickbutt as our avater.

yeah so what if they uploaded penises n stuff. Don't you guys remember the days of Counter Strike 1.6? The idea is that it's fun and you get to do crazy fuzzy bunny in the game.

like this:

http://gamebanana.com/sprays/39375

As a clan you could spray your logo on the wall and show off:

http://www.gronkscav...samplespray.jpg

We used to do this all the time. and it added another cool element to the game.

Yeah see, that second example is where it all falls apart.

To be more explicit about it, what if the text said "gas all jews?"

I can definitely see the need for screening peoples avatar. I've been gaming online since 1994 and I've seen some pretty bad avatars, game names, guild names, guild avatars, forum names, etc. People get pretty crazy on the net, let alone what they do in games. Personally I don't think it's fair they have to pay HC to have a avatar. A game avatar is pretty much a given in games and forums. I just made one for SaturdayGhede because he didn't have one. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I also don't understand why they have to wait to level 30 to have one. That just seems odd to me. I'd forgotten all about that. I've been here almost 3 yrs now and well I am old, hehe. I remember now I wasn't real happy about it then either. You have my sympathy.

Forget screening, its a game lol. Back in the day you could do anything. So implement a vote kick into the server for people to use. We need crazy in this game like the good ole days of Quake etc. Too many babies on these servers that complain about everything. Needs to be less regulated and more wild west on here.

Be a man!!!!

What happened to "Online interaction not monitored by the ESRB"

I say do this at lvl 30 because it makes players work for it. I want my Gi joe Cobra Logo ingame.

Been asked for since alpha (had a long debate about it as well back then), been asked for a few times since the resurrection of the forums, and I personally asked Cptn Josh for it on the TS the first night Reloaded said they had bought the IP.

There is a lot of things to take care of first, and a lot of things to figure out on how to implement it, if they ever do.

My idea would be to make the ability somewhat spendy (MC only of course, since it's a cosmetic thing), with a policy of no refunds and any blatantly offensive images get removed.

There would have to be a vetting process, of course, as well as something for reporting ones that get missed, and a review of those reported issues (lets face it, some people will claim to be offended over just about anything, and some will do so as a form of griefing).

Then there is copyright concerns, legal issues depending on the area (i.e. Nazi party images in illegal in France, Germany, Hungary), and so on.

I would love to have it, and I'm sure the clans would as well, but sadly, I'm not going to hold my breath over it being implemented.

user sub in game avatars could and would be abused. there is a reason why there are no sprays in cs:go, to much porn sprays in css. i for one dont want to look at a bunch of dicks. (i for one dont think dickbutt counts as offensive)

Back in the day you could do anything.

Then I suggest you build a time machine.

Fact is, we're part of a much more PC oriented online culture now. Get used to it.

The sad thing is, all I see is an example of ' what if a user pots nazi propaganda etc and penises" lol. How about I just want to advertise my clan or youtube video channel things like that. Bacon avenger said it right. But I'd love to customize my mech/gamestyle/personality to the game.

Asian your avatar is sexist please change it.

It's not a matter of "if". It's a matter of "when". When you have a large number of people, hidden behind the anonymous wall of the internet, it is a guarantee that some of them are going to do the most tasteless, immature thing possible. And in a free to play game, there's no pay-gate to keep people from just making a new account if they got banned for obscene/tasteless avatars, which means that this sort of thing will happen with even more frequency.

I played APB for a while. They have custom decal graphics you can build in the game. Of course, it doesn't have to go through approval because it's simply too expensive to hire the manpower needed for approving the decals. And what do you see? Hentai. Straight up cartoon porn, plaster on the side of a van, or tattooed on a character. Can't remember which CoD it was that I last played, but it had custom emblems. And what did I see? Penises. A veritable horde of male genitalia.

The point is, it doesn't matter what you would do, because you are not everybody. It's inevitable that there are people who will abuse the system. Also, like it was stated before, it's impractical for them to have an approval process. It takes time, and it's expensive. The less time you want it to take, the more expensive it gets (because you have to hire more people), or it starts slowing down other, likely more important, areas of work (because you have to shift where manpower is distributed).

Also, I'll change my avatar if you can explain why/how it is more sexist than Laila without relying on a clothing-based argument, and explaining how it's any worse than Ruby.

I do not support this idea without existing measures of in game built in community reporting systems and policies that lead to transparent decision making in bans, warnings, and so on.
