This might be a dumb idea, but here it is:

A new section in forums named dictionary/definitions. Topics are just terms like "MMR". Thread original pos might be a question what some term means and following posts anwsers to it. Or it might be a simple definition for some term followed by opinions.

This game has some specific terms and abbreviations, not mention that playerbase is quite international. Might ease some storms of fuzzy bunny and cut down some repeated questions in general discussion.

 

Inspired by recent discussion with AJK, no hard feelings.

True, but then it would be maintained by a single forum member. Some questions might also be lost to the thread. Not to mention the difficulty of discussion for certain term in the presence of multiple terms.

I have also noticed alot of people don't know what TPG is, even people in it. xD

I do remember of very cool threads in the old forums with glossaries and dictionaries on general gaming and especifically on HAWKEN stuff.

 

The ones i do remember of were made by the_silencer. Dunno if anyone in here has a copy of those or not though. Not me, I'm afraid.

I genuinely don't believe that this is worthy of an entire forum.

 

A) There aren't that many terms to define.

 

B) That's confusing as all hell, versus a single standardized list that you can just ctrl+F through. The dictionary is one book adhering to a single organization scheme, not a collection of several produced by authors with wildly varying ideas of how to organize things.

 

C) A single stickied thread either in General Discussion or in Help and Guides achieves the same thing in a much simpler fashion.

 

D) You can't alphabetize a series of threads.

I'm up for making this tonight. Should I include players that are commonly referenced by acronyms or short versions of their names who are prominent in the forums or game too? What about clans?
