We need chat moderators , in this game people its hell rude even insulted my dead mother , its very hard to play if a full guild its chasing you and insulting you all time, we dont have anyway to report insults or rude players, the chat censor dont exist or dont works, i m tired of being insulted for people i dont know just because i argued with one of his guild, i think its one of the reasons of why hawken community its weak, and its because we dont have moderators to stop the trolls

I'm sorry you need people to censor others so they don't hurt your fragile ego.

there is a chat sensor, if you click on the players name on the team displays you can choose mute, it will mute their chat.

My ego isnt weak, my mother really died of cancer with a lot of suffer and this guys and their friends do jokes with this, if it was real life i was stabed they to death yet, but i can do it in the chat of hawken, so please add chat moderators, all online games use it, its important to HAWKEN to dont lose players so its not just for me, i say this for all the comunity of this game, i dont want all ppl think we have a bad comunnity and dont play it, even "battlefield play for free" have it and its a mature game.

My dead mother has been insulted, even here on the forums, more times than I can count.

Dead moms are fair game.

Just save up your best ridicule for when their moms die. Hilarious.

But don't be silly. We do not need "chat monitors"

You might learn to reciprocate the insults, it's good for ya.

Yeah, mute's good. A report feature would be nice too and may be implemented when the devs have more resources.

There are always trolls... you might take solace in that they feel the need to put others down to build themselves up.

You might learn to reciprocate the insults, it's good for ya.

Also this. People who follow others around to insult them definitely have enough targets on themselves.

I would like to know where the funding to pay this team of 24 hour chat moderators, who obviously must sit in on every match, is to come from?

It does really, really suck to have to put up with the ignorance and brutal disrespect of a bunch of pieces of crap whose sick minds find it appropriate and enjoyable to sling disgusting speech at others.  I wish there was a magic button that would just instantly erase them all from existence.  But there isn't and it is just the price of mingling with any group of random people.  People suck.  Take the high road and ignore them, that's all you can actually do in this life.

Look this isnt Riot. Reloaded Inc's Hawken division consists of three people right now. They don't have the personnel to moderate the games and they have bigger projects to tackle than a community moderation team.

If you think you are subject to verbal abuse please submit a support ticket with evidence. Otherwise, mech the fuzzy bunny up or mute the motherfuzzers.

I understand that it hurts if people mock something as brutal and harsh as what happened to you, but death threats won't help your case on the forums at all in fact they'll probably get you trouble. I'd suggest taking that part out and I'll do the same for this comment.

Take  a screenshot and send in a support ticket, that is your best and only option.  Muting is a short term fix, but doesn't solve the problem.

This is the internet. No matter what you do in there, as long as people have the opportunity of communicating with each other it is going to happen.

But consider this, They have no clue who you are, they don't have the slightest idea about your 'weaknesses' and whatever horrible stuff you might hear is just made up and you cannot take that personally. And no matter how much that stuff hurts you at first, you will develop a immunity for it pretty fast. Trust me, been there myself. Also, we have this saying here; ''in one ear, out the other.'' not sure how well it converts to english but i think you get the idea.

Ok wow .....

it is true that there is a mute button, but i agree that we need to have some kind of system for temporary chat banning people....

ok there is mute for small things but what if things get out of hands, what if the other just keeps on behaving like a toxic bunny.

so maybe, i suggest like a moderator system, moderators could be picked or could be random and they just put some kind of point stack up. once a user gets a number of points they get temp chat ban?

i also thought of maybe EVERYONE could be mods and implement a system where in the game if someone presses a button saying this player is offenssive, other players press yes or no and if there are egnof yess, then punishment in any kind (mute, etc)

Ps: lol man i feel how you feel lol, yesterday, a guy insulted me while raging cuz i dominated him as a predator while just picking his team off 1 by 1 XD ( it was 1 v 2 durring the whole thing lol XD)

chat moderators would be nice. you still get those guys who rage and call everyone f****ts or n****rs when theres really no need for it. just to keep people in place, give them a suspension from chatting say 1 hr on their first offense and doubles with each consecutive verbal offense. would put a stop to some if not most.

So we're supposed to have a team of people - all of whom are presumably paid salaries - to sit around and watch the chat going on in matches, 24 hours a day?

Are you out of your mind?

Has no one ever heard of community moderation? Which Riot, which was mentioned, used for LoL? I guess not, judging by the responses.

I guess the Hawken community really is garbage.

Maybe you humans need to stop being so easily insulted.

Which isn't to say that players that repeatedly insult others shouldn't be reported. Both sides are annoying.

I think what he/she means that it is easier to have forum mods than in-game chat mods, and that there can be spilled a lot more bad blood here than in the game.

My stand however is that if you say sh*t to anyone anywhere, it should be reportable and done something with. Bans, warnings, perma-bans, anything really. And while some may say grow a shell, remember that even the hardest shell can break. It should not be a request towards us to act kindly towards each other as that is normal manners. Some do not got the tolerance towards bad stuff thrown at them and we must respect that as not everyone may be able to change that.

Let's be clear on this: https://www.playhawk...ules-of-conductThe instance of behaviour that the OP compains about matches the schema set out in the Rules of Conduct. This is absolutely an infraction. The Rules of Conduct "govern interaction between and among users of the Game within the Game environment and on Game-Related Websites". Where does it say it stops within Hawken in-game chat? Answer: Nowhere.

Why excuse this sort of toxic behaviour? If a player uses game chat to denigrate or disrespect others, why should they /not/ be punished accordingly (e.g. game chat ban, account muting).

@OP: Next time something like this happens, capture a screenshot(s) of the offending texts and send a ticket through the Support website. As others have mentioned, feel free to use the Mute button as well.

EDIT: Let's not support this behaviour by putting "grow a shell" on a pedastal, as if a reactionary, no-thought-involved defence mechanism is a great or sustainable solution to a problem.

Yes, reporting and muting is all we need and OP should do exactly that.

The "toxic behaviour" isn't being excused, i (and maybe others) don't want the other spectrum of toxicity, easily insulted humans who think policing others' speech at all times is a good idea, to be enabled.

"grow a shell" is a basic necessity to interact with humans. "reactionary, no-thought-involved defence mechanism" is a pretty good description of the chat moderation idea, i think.

I fully support the idea of screenshotting, reporting, and banning people for hostile behaviour. But that's already lumped into our normal support system anyway, which the original poster does not seem to be aware of.

Not really his fault, I guess; even if he did create a ticket we don't have much of a support team right now anyway. But once the devs are fully staffed we should see that infrastructure working again.

What I was really commenting on was this:

chat moderators would be nice... just to keep people in place, give them a suspension from chatting say 1 hr on their first offense and doubles with each consecutive verbal offense. would put a stop to some if not most.

The idea of hiriing people to impose a nanny state on the in-game chat - in real time - is not only impractical, it is ridiculous. Especially when the mute button works so well already.

Really now? And how would you like to define the requirements for who "needs" what? Are you an arbiter for who is and is not an "easily insulted human"?

The "toxic behaviour" is not being excused, it is being enabled. "Growing a shell" may be a basic necessity but this does not preclude taking a stance against disrespecting others.

You need to think a better think if you think a growing a shell is a good solution, and I'm betting that a Report button that includes in-game chat logs is a decent enough idea.

I fully support the idea of screenshotting, reporting, and banning people for hostile behaviour. But that's already lumped into our normal support system anyway, which the original poster does not seem to be aware of.

I think it is clear enough that the OP is not asking for what everyone appears to be assuming what they are asking. "Chat moderators" can be anything so long as it is so vaguely worded. Ideas include "GM flagging" that brings a match to the attention of a game master or chat moderator that can arbitrate a decision, a reporting system that auto-includes chat logs, etc.

0/10 thread, I feel bad for OP.
