Mech Quickies

Creating short informational videos, maybe no longer than 1:20-30 maybe, talking about each individual mech - different weapons, ability explanation, strengths/weaknesses of individual mechs. Gameplay footage in background according to discussion point (weapon uses, middle mouse button utility, ability, strengths/weaknesses)
These short a-little-longer-than-a-minute videos could be sent to the devs and linked in game when a player clicks on a mech, considers the purchase but the game doesn't give enough information to allow players make an informed purchase. Video can be clicked on to view on the mech info & purchase window appears. Too many new players I see in some streams and in-game don't know enough about their mech to use it, like players don't know MMB does lock on with Bruiser, that KLA can switch modes, etc. For players who want video of mechs but don't want to sit through 5+ minutes of mech videos ala SoldierHobbes11 type stuff or read through a guide on tips. AFAIK this can be done without a content patch so a step towards greater informational access available to players INSIDE the game so they don't need to necessarily leave for the forums or Youtube to get viable, useful information.

Old devs did this already, only a few though. Some had good points/strategies, others didnt.
What if we just give some bacon paint, some bacon holo-emotes and change Bunker from snow to bacon.
This way, everyone will be happy.
What you should really do, is replace your parts with bacon, so you can cook games and eat bacon
Obviously the wallpaper would be cooler if bacon was incorporated into it.

FakeName, like those vids but they're way too long. Something quick, more facts said in a more concise manner.
With speech or is text enuff?

up to 1:30. absolutely. enough to get the basic Necessaries across, without the newb clicking past it because it's annoying/in the way/tediously long/immediately boring.
the original vids (above) were fairly good, but something like that wouldn't fit when someone's primary objective is to get into a mech and start blasting!
+1
ninja'd: speech and text both. they may have DnB cranked up.

I hope to give both a try, see which works better. Voice is always better imo but if it can't fit within the time frame, then text it is.

I basically just wrote the screens to the Raider and Infiltrator in the past 30 seconds, love the idea, let's talk.

I have Tiggs' word/seal of approval that this would be awesome, so I guess I'll be doing this.

I'm willing to bet that Silverfire's quickies will be able to relay just as much gameplay-related information as the old mech mechanic's videos did - seeing as the vast majority of those videos were a sales pitch of sorts.
I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure

These videos are less of a sales pitch and more of "the cold hard facts" in video format with maybe a quick overview of strengths/weaknesses of each mech. Nothing too fantastically indepth but enough to give wholesome information and the whole picture about the mech.

Would it better to inject more opinion about a mech, playtips, strats, etc., or more so just present the facts and features about the mech in video format?

Okay, question, because scripting and planning and stuff.
Would it better to inject more opinion about a mech, playtips, strats, etc., or more so just present the facts and features about the mech in video format?
I'd say go for more facts, but get opinions from those who are the best at the mech too.
