Quick post to address some scheduling issues and rule-related confusion. We're three matches into our regular season, and we're starting to see some slack scheduling. Captains and schedulers, please ensure that you're using TPG's scheduling options on time. To allow teams time to complete their week three matches, we'll be delaying week 4 until Sunday, August 2nd. The Schedule will be released on Monday, July 27th, and teams will have until Sunday to schedule their match. If captains aren't able to abide by the deadlines, I will start issuing forfeits to move things along.

Confusion over Section 2.5, Multi-Teaming & Multiple Accounts

Originally, this section read as follows: “A player may not participate in more than one match of play for a given week of play”. Our intent was to discourage multi-teaming (participating as a rostered player on one team, then switching to another team and playing a second weekly match), not ringing. Ringing, of course, is TPG's term for using (with the opposing captain's persmission) non-rostered players during a match.

To avoid confusion, we've reworded this section to the following: “Players may not participate as rostered players in multiple matches per week. In other words, players may not play their weekly match with one team, only to switch teams and play another match. Our intention is to discourage multi-teaming, not ringing. As such, this rule does not apply to instances of ringing”.

Confusion over ringing and refusals

Opposing captains may reject proposed ringers without reason. That being said, we expect that captains will eventually reach agreements re: ringers. Rejecting ringers ad infinitum will not net you a forfeit win. Conversely, captains requiring ringers shouldn't seek advantage through their selections.

Confusion over substitutions (rostered players)

As per Section 4.7, teams are permitted to substitute rostered players both between and during rounds without the opposing captain's permission.

Chat violations

As per Section 4.3, only Team Captains should be using public in-game chat. All other players are limited to simple welcoming and congratulatory statements like “gl, hf” and “gg”. This rule serves two purposes. Firstly, it helps keep TPG matches friendly and welcoming. Secondly, it prevents players from getting themselves into trouble with stupid, vitriolic statements said in the heat of the moment.

Although it's unlikely that we'll issue penalties over harmless chat violations, we have – and will continue to – suspend players who cross that line. Save yourself the risk and don't use “say” chat before, during, or after matches.
