I’m so excited I can hardly sit still..  I’m actually standing and trying to type right now.   Note, don’t bother. Doesn’t work.

 

 

To me, the launch of the forums kicks off the next stage in the life of Hawken.  This game is significant.  This community is significant.  The support I’ve seen this community deliver to anybody and everybody is remarkable.  Really.  It’s a sense of honor I feel to have the opportunity to work with you.

 

 

We wanted to get these forums up as quickly as possible because, dude, it’s been too long.  We’ll get the more official stuff hammered out in the coming days, but I believe the future of these forums will look something kinda like this:

 

1. You can freely express your opinions and you’ll see people being constructive (of all the crazy things ;)
2. You will see thoughtful feedback that intends to be professional
3. You will find a well-organized list of highly-regarded, well-made community design proposals
4. You will find the Dev team actively wrestling with how to integrate community design proposals into ongoing dev sprints
5. You will make a set of friends you respect, even when you heatedly disagree with them
6. You will see many other communities sprout up around the world, each reflecting similar ideals and growth
7. You will see rage and drama and many a fuzzy bunny.  And then you’ll see the same people coolly isolate the differences in assumptions, and then create a proposed solution, complete with tests…. Ok, now I’m preaching ;)

I don't mean to gush, but I'm over the moon with HAWKEN's revival and how open things are now. I think transparency and communication are probably the most important part of developing something like this. It feels good to be back, and to know I will still be able to hop into my mechs for a long time to come!

Terrific job on rebuilding the forums....it has a nice fresh look and feel to it. I for one have never stopped playing Hawken since Alpha, was going to keep on till this was shut down or someone picked up the pieces and always checked in the forums nightly right to when they were shut down. 

 

Well thanks for picking up the pieces, you seem to be as excited about getting the opportunity as I am about it happening. My gut tells me very good things are about to happen with Hawken to bring it to the game we all knew it should be.

 

I salute you Captn'...Semper Fi (Fidelis) always faithful.

 

On a separate note, I'm curious as to what the actual game intro might look like since ADH and Meteor no longer have anything to do with Hawken ?

Well, well.  Now isn't this an intriguing turn-up for the books.  I'll be keenly interested in seeing what direction the game takes from here on in.  Here's hoping that previous mistakes made are recognised, fully understood and most importantly: learned from.

Super psyched to see the game get picked up. I started playing on day one of beta (was waiting for it anxiously) and I never stopped. We were waiting for the servers to go dark at any moment, but vowed to play right up until that moment.  Good work!

 am very pleased that has been rescued Hawken, I hope you really take into account the constructive ideas to improve the game, always have had faith in this game and there really is quality people and good players which are forged good friends, I hope the developers back to the roots of the game and give us joy that we were heard, please come back and believe in hawkeneros
