3 Years ago, I saw this video pop up in my "Suggested" section of YouTube. I thought, hell, why not. I watched the video, despite never seeing anything from this youtuber before, despite never seeing HAWKEN gameplay before, hell, despite not even knowing HAWKEN existed before. I watched the whole thing, and decided I should give this "HAWKEN" a try.

 

Back on 20th June 2013, (or sometime thereabouts) I made this account and, soon after, hopped into my CR-T for the first time. If you'd told me back then that I would still be here 3 years later, I never would've believed you.

 

But here I still am.

 

In the past 3 years HAWKEN and it's community have changed quite drastically. Features have come and gone, GUIs have come and gone, clans have come and gone, players have come and gone. Developers have come and gone.

 

Right now I think HAWKEN's in a good place. Most things are balanced, we've got things to complain about, sure, but will we ever not?

 

In the end I don't really know why I made this post. I guess I felt it was important to honour the occasion. But, in the end, we're still here. The devs seem to be talking to us, and HAWKEN is most certainly still here. Here's hoping the devs throw us a bone and don't screw us over.

100% agreed. Old cockpit and old sounds but TBH I so do not miss the old shields.

Tech + something powerful + bubbles on them = my worst Hawken nightmare.

EMP was a glowey green ball that you launched from your chest and traveled in a straight line, Jack.  Bubbles on the back of mechs don't move relative to the mech, but move wherever the mech moves... usually, the heck away from an EMP.

 

I don't remember if the EMP back then melted bubbles or not:  I never used bubbles back then because I always lost if I did.

i miss setting lights up with shields like they were lunchboxes before school

 

that and nothing said angry meatwall like brawler in turret mode with the old deflectors and turn speed increases

Y'know what? I'll second this motion.

 

I've played this game for four years, and as far as I'm concerned, it was time well spent.

 

 

 

Even if things change and Hawken becomes something completely different, I have no regrets about the time I've spent here.

It did melt bubbles, but it was also slower than quite a few mechs. However the aoe on that thing allowed you to easily emp people taking AA from any outside surface. It also lasted 7 seconds at one point. A 7 second shutdown.
