I spent some time watching a twitch stream earlier for the Xbox version and occasionally gave tips to the person playing. Some of the tips I gave him seemed to really help and excite him at learning more about the game. Since expanding the tutorial, so that it covers all of the complex knowledge and techniques important for becoming a good player is a bit overwhelming, I suggest integrating random pro tips into the loading screens and menu; similar to MMORPGs and how they don't flood you with their complex inventory of features from the get-go. I think it would also be great if we gathered a list of potential tips here, too. I'll start:

"Walking keeps you off the enemy radar, while boosting or dodging reveals you to your enemies. It is important to walk when you want to sneak up on your enemies and boost when you want to confront them directly."

Also, maybe in the future, there could be a video guide explaining how to properly utilize each mech in the mech selection menu. Like how SoldierHobbes11 did on Youtube--except his guides are no longer completely applicable, though still useful.

Unfortunately a lot of the knowledge is tribal at this point in time and not in guides. Aim adjustment, erratic movement, positioning, class utilization, etc.

Some of the things that were the hardest to learn:

1) Lead your shots. EVERYTHING has a travel time.

2) Know where your team is so you don't overreach. This corresponds to standing your ground and taking as many with you as possible as well when the situation calls for it

3) You don't have to heal to full. Help your teammate if they are getting stomped on. Its free seconds of shooting they won't be aiming at you.

4) Keep the pressure on. If your whole team is healing or running to heal you will lose any tactical advantage you previously had.

5) Learn how to snap your secondaries into where they will be. Humans tend to follow a typical pattern when moving, once you recognize this, 3/4 of the time they will dodge that way when you are hammering them with your primary.

6) Low health does not mean you are any less deadly. The amount of scouts and zerkers i've baited into tows is just silly.

7) For the love of god don't chase unless there is a very good reason to. You will generally overextend, end up surrounded, and lose the kill you are chasing anyway.

8) Probably one of the more important things. Radar is NOT an active scan. It only pings you when you boost or shoot. You stay on for a few seconds after the last activation of one of those triggers then you fall off it within a few seconds. Heavy mechs can be really sneaky if you just take the time to walk. (Scanner IS active scan though. Sorta why people hate it.)

The number of pilots i've baited into a full scout volley is insane, People need to learn this.

This. It's why the technician is a useless class - damage is king in Hawken. Anything that puts more damage into the enemy than you are taking taking is ideal and the tech cannot reliably outpace that damage.
