Had a great (shadow)run with Suti and Deus (and of course with Johnny the barefooted hacker extraordinaire) and some good games in HotS with Deaod and Vulong. :)
 
Do not forget about this week's scrim, it is going to be Insurgency! We would like to stream it this time.
Also, we should agree on a date to try out Dirty Bomb. I vote for tomorrow, how about that? We can ask some AoH members to join us as well.

Seriously, it plays almost exactly like Brink, minus parkour, free customization, gun selection, class selection/customization...

They seriously dumbed it down, turning it into card collection game, where each character has specific abilities assigned to him and to make matters worse-weapon selection depends on card you have...

Graphic wise it might be an improvement, but everything else is... a downgrade.

I never played Brink so it does not bother me at all, but I know it flopped.

Well I actually like Dirty Bomb. I played Brink when it came out (Was super hyped for it), was quite disappointed obviously but I still managed to have some fun with it though.

 

While it is a shame that not all elements of the SMART system is in place (SMART being the Parkour system), the game still maintains a fast paced feel, you move really fast and I like that. I also think while we have lost free customization, we have gained what is an interesting character system. There are a good number characters at the moment with more to come. This loadout system is also quite interesting, you get a good sense of progression with the loadouts you unlock, all twisting the way that characters play with adding perks to the rarer the loadout. Everyone will have a totally unique progression because of this system since you gain each loadout randomly through the cases you buy (With an earned currency mind you) or get given as a reward. The best bit is you don't feel screwed over if you get a loadout you didn't really want since there is always going to be one loadout for one character you can play and like. But when you get one you do want, it make a character that was previously unplayable for you your favorite character.

 

Also, I don't really care for the lack of fancy graphics, the game actually runs really well which is a plus in my books.

 

Don't knock till your tried it, in a way this is Brink 2.0 but surely that nickname doesn't mean its bad. In theory it means its an improved version of the original idea and yeh it kinda is that while bringing others ideas and features to the table.

But surely the loadout you got when you open a case was random. The loadout itself is not randomly generated but which one you get is randomly chosen.

The cases' content is random, but you said "you gain each loadout randomly through the cases you buy". I belive you missed the fact that you can buy the full loadouts, and that process isn't random.

Oh I meant the content of a case is random that's all. I didn't mean the loadout itself was randomly generated. :)
