Would releasing the VI cosmetics be immoral from the developers' standpoint?
Nope. For starters, it wasn't even their promise to begin with. If I promise you that TJ is gonna go jump off a cliff, I highly doubt you would find it immoral for TJ to not do so. That example alone doesn't prove you can always break someone else's promise, but the promise-part isn't the point of concern.
Secondly, even if it were their own promise, they're helping people.
Were it not for the fact that I have to wear other people's vocabulary to talk with them, I would just point out that moral good/bad is as much a phantom concept as the prior things I've mentioned, and therefore it really just can't be moral or immoral, but in the "colloquial" sense, noone could call it immoral without crossing over their own feet so to speak.
-and to add to this, I don't get what you mean by "from the developer's standpoint". Isn't something just moral or just immoral, ass opposed to "moral from this view" but not another? Or are we not using an objective moral system anyway? Legitimately asking.
