INSULTING ACTIVATED

This has become a standard of Hawken now. New players HAVE to deal with heavy insults and Cursing. Just because they are newbies, don't know much about Game Play, they will hear extreme curses. AND 99% of the time, its the same dude who curses. His initials are KC (I m not calling out, and I am not posting full names  :ninja:). He mostly plays Berserker or Pred on some occasions. IF you are in his team, you will hear curses as soon as your team start to lose. From the beginning till the end of the match, that dude annoys the hell out of everyone. He's a well known player for CURSING and has no skills. Put him back to his place, He call's you aimbot :D and spreads wrong message about you.

My post can be backed up by tons of other players. He's still active on this forum and he must be banned for good. Its game and it should be played like a game. If you take it seriously, this place is not for you. The guy keeps on arguing for no apparent reason, talks crap, insults even well skilled players and leave no newbie from his piteously gruesome trash. It didn't happened just once or twice, it happens everyday and in all the matches he's playing.

If one will feel bad because of fuzzy bunny talk on the internet, he/she should somewhere else, IDK, go to the library or something. It's more friendly there.

I'm not one for heavy cursing, and if someone on my team insults the others and barks out orders I will stop and say "...only if you ask nicely."

But, really, being a jerk alone isn't really a ban-able offense.

Esentially my experience when I first come back after a year of hiatus.

I don't really care anymore. I'm just trying to ease myself into the controls.

There's a mute button.

KC, as you call him, is one of several auto-mutes I recommend.

IamSrk, there is a mute button you can use. It will stop all his chat logs and you won't see them. Yes, some players are toxic but welcome to the internet. Is it a problem? Yes. However, a vast majority of players in this game are pretty chill, have great sportsmanship, and are pretty level headed. The other day when my main accoutn was down (thanks capnjosh :p) I was playing around with one of my smurfs (which I keep so I can play with others who have a lower MMR than I am if they want to play). The players there were pretty awesome and all were good. I had nothing but GF or WP. GGs at the end of the game. Guys were just having fun. That is how I see most games anyways. They are all pretty relaxed and respectful.

Personally I just hope the devs will do something about them if we report them enough.

You know how you have some games that have ratings and then there is an disclaimer that said rating does not include online content or something like that?

I'm not going to go "Oh they should get thicker skin or get off the internet", but most reasonable people know that this sort of behavior is a risk when one plays online games.

There is a profanity filter option, which is on by default, and a mute player button. There is all manner of adult content to be seen and heard on the internet. It's not your job to make sure no one gets offended online.

This thread has me breakin out the old internet rulebook. Lemme see here...

All I need to say is rule 8,9, and 13. There, that should fix you right up.

For those who have no idea what I am talking about:

Source: (I actually realize linking this is a bad idea. It has been taken down so I dont get in trouble. Written out rules down under.)

8. There are no real rules about posting.
9. There are no real rules about moderation either enjoy your ban.

13. Nothing is Sacred.

That is the dumbed down version. If you want the real bazam google it and see the wiki.

Edit: Here is my internet rule. If you don't like 'em, ignore em. You are your own cencorship, unless you live in China or North Korea.

That is off-topic.

We are talking about a douchebag. Who's got no skills and blames other's for his defeat and sadness. Rage quitting is very common. But that idiot dude in question (KC) is only one doing all this B.S.

That dude need to be banned permanently.

Agreed.   If I see a skilled but obnoxious player, one who trash talks needlessly,  I just make a mental note to NOT add him to my friend list, or go out of my way to protect or back him up.   Let him be stuck with the NOOB team!!   XD     Now,  I WILL confess,  there are moments when I DO go off pretty bad,  and that is when Noobs shoot guns at battleships, instead of taking the AA zone in Siege.   in THAT situation,  I cuss like a sailor.  It seems like they don't read the objectives that are posted up on the screen.  I haven't figured out a solution to this,  and it's a shame, as Siege is probably THE most fun game type,  but also one that's most easily ruined by inexperienced players.   Could we perhaps have a team in-game vote to HIGHLIGHT the team objectives?  Maybe have the "battleship pilot" voice barking orders  "takte that AA zone, grunt!"   just as he does "Let's bring that EU back to base"?   THIS is my biggest frustration with Hawken as of this point.

We don't endorse cursing and vulgarity, Speaking for myself, I just feel there are enough in-game tools to deal with it.  1:  Don't friend him. 2: block his chat  3: If you're friends,  remove him from friend list.  4: Don't support or back him up in-game,  work with other players.  5: be a good example.  6:  enjoy those moments when he's on a NOOB team, and pulling his hair out!  I have enough friends,  some who used to be skilled Nemesis,  that I can pretty much form a skilled team whenever I want.

I think this happens to a lot of new players when they first start playing ANY multiplayer game. There are players from many different backgrounds that don't care what the community thinks. Dragging attention to this particular person isn't the best way to go about it, if someone is legitimately harassing you i suggest you video record any spoken work with him or screencap any text. Then you can submit a request. If you're intent is to smear this player in anyway (not that you named him, but he could very well visit these forums and easily connect what you've said)  or this community, I'm not sure you're going to get the response you'd like.

My suggestion: Ignore them, don't fuel the fire. The trolls here are mild compared to what you could see in league of legends.

I'll offer you children some advice, in order to prevent you hearing bad language ( that you can mute/censor regardless ):

1) hanging back and forcing 1 or 2 people to do the work of 6 is an excellent way to anger said 1 or 2 people; do not be cowards, do not insist you are helping by hiding and running away with 3/4 health.

2) refusing to go ( near ) the AA ( seige mode ) when the afforementioned experienced player has been there alone asking for help 3-4 times, trying to fight off the entire enemy team singled handed, will result in that player becoming very angry too; repeat this in ~90% of matches and you will understand the anger.

3) saying 'it's just a game dude, I'm just trying to have fun' will also make said person extremely angry as, guess what, some of us would actually like to win- which is more fun than losing due to your cowardly team refusing to actually help or join in the fight at the AA.

4) Do not play team games if you do not have any interest in helping your team mates ( the ones who clearly know how to fight and control objectives-ergo, not by hiding a mile away ). Stick to solo death match or fight club until you learn to get stuck in and react to basic instructions ( go aa, get eu ).

As for the child comments; I'm 32.

As for the 'no skill' comments; lol. Skilled players do not hide miles from the objective, shooting at a brick wall and thinking it is somehow helping. They also don't launch battle ships when the other team has the AA and they have warned as such ( ergo, ' don't launch, we need AA first' )- upshot being the unskilled energy gathering rookies* pay zero attention and carry on ruining theor chances of winning regardless of instructions.

Don't call an Alpha tester inexperienced or unskilled when he is the one carrying his team and fighting alone due to total lack of backup. There are aimbotters, exploiters and smurfs; they are easy to spot, and despite what many insist, not always easy to kill. Don't call a player with 4+ years experience a child when they know the game inside & out- you should perhaps listen to them instead, rather than insist on doing your own thing and thinking it is a better idea when ti clearly isn't; you don't end up with a score 3-4x higher than the guys below you on the scoreboard due to being 'unskilled'.

If you're done crying abotu your feelings being hurt due to some bad language, I'll be off; I have some cowards to carry in a game of seige...

Oh trust me, I'm new and even I feel the AA woes during siege. Once I saw everyone but me shoot at the ship and I just said that if no one's going to actually take AA then I'm just gonna take it easy.

There was a another match where a guy on the other team said that we have his permission to kill any campers on his side during a Siege match.

Keep in mind thought that not every new guy knows how Siege works. And not everyone has reason to get all super pissy. It took me a few games to really get the hang of Siege, a few more to be half-decent at it.

Me, I say "it's only a game". A game that I would like to win, yes, but just a game. You can't expect everyone who does curse and insult people to have particularly good reasons to do so, or that the ones being insulted aren't just guys who simply don't know the ropes yet.

Except your grasp of Siege strategy is horrible, you regularly charge the AA without waiting for backup and the reason your score is 3x higher is because you're off chasing people instead of holding the AA and STILL you lose your team games.

It's no wonder no one wants to listen to you, even before getting into your toxic, entitled attitude.

That's some impressive lying right there.

1) If I waited for my team to go AA, I'd be old and grey most matches. Simple as that. People carry on collecting Eu and trying to return it after i've called 'go AA' 3 or 4 times ( more often... ). I'm not charging AA, I'm already there, like everyone else should be since you know very well that being at the AA before the other team is the best way to hold it. But like I said, people don't listen even when asked politely, they just want to hide or Eu gather for points...

2) I rarely chase for kills- that's an issue with many experienced players however who gift the AA to the other team by all wondering off looking for kills; while I stay on point and get gang-banged by the other team when they turn up. Dropping below the AA or going aroudn a corner to FINISH a kill and coming right  back is not chasing, nor is flanking around the back of the other team to kill them as they heal or take out snipers.

3) Toxic is a matter of opinion; right now, the game is drowning in players who simply do not listen to basic instructions and only want to mess around; this is the issue with a free to play game-model, it attracts far too many 'casual gamers' and makes it very hard for the long-term players to win when most of their team don't help.

Feel free to hang back and nurse your kill/death ratios though if you think that is a superior strategy.

I'm just saying that's the message you're sending to new players. There are better ways to get people to coordinate and play well than resorting to poor sportsmanship and profanity (As frustrating as it can be). Positive reinforcement is more effective than negative reinforcement.

My post can be backed up by tons of other players. He's still active on this forum and he must be banned for good.

I don't insult good players ;)

Calling for bans because you don't like someones attitude says more about you than it does about them; try playing better, listening, and not being so overly sensitive- if you don't like what people say, mute them. Banning them won't stop the apallingly bad players from dragging down the good ones which is the route of the issue; I am not the only one who feels that way either and most longterm players will attest to that, too. Being vocal doesn't make me wrong.

FYI- using someones initials stil counts as identifying them, launching tirades on open-forum is harrasment, calling for bans makes you look like a crybaby, especially when it's over something you don't have to listen to ( mute/profanity filters ftw ).  Ban cheats and exploiters, ban racist players, but don't ban the ones who offend your childish sensibilities because they are fed up with you dragging them down.

And I don't pick on rookies either- so many lies in this thread, it amuses me...

I do ask people to 'nicely' go to the AA; after the 3rd or 4th time I stop asking nicely. Trust me, if you ever play Seige or MA and find yourself being the only guy on-point while everyone else hides or stands around doing very little ( fighting and ignoring the objectives ), you'll understand. Like I said to whatshisface, I don't insult good players or ones who listen & atleast try to stay on point...
