Because I'm a dragon fan, I'm going with Dragonaut The Resonance style.

Also, for those who read Korean Manhwa, various mecha/Monsters/Types in Knight Run. Walking Shrimp just looks epic, as the humanoid numbered Types.

Im more of an Armoured Core fan myself. Not a fan of the newer titles though (AC2 reigns supreme). Even though it was only PvE, The arena was my favourite part of that game. I also had mech warrior 3 back in the days of windows 98 but if I had to pick one I would say I preferred AC's faster pace/less of a simulation style.
Im pretty sure I watched a show called "Heavy Gear" back in the day which had some pretty cool mech action.

I guess I prefer realism in my mech design to a degree, not really a fan of the "POWER LEVEL MAXIUMUM, SUPER TRANSFORM OMEGA DEATH CANNON SUPER ABILITY" way of going about things. But thats just me.

I'm still in the MechWarrior camp. Mechs that feel and move like they weigh 100 frakking tons because they are covered with 60mm thick armor always made more sense to me. I really liked the light mechs from MW because they still had the weighty feeling given that they are still basically tanks on legs, and without the ridiculous sizes of the heavy and assault mechs. Most other mechs feel too agile for their size and weight. It feels like the physics engine an 8 year old has in their mind.

different styles of mechs for different occassions
more or thicker legs for more weight which means more guns
biped for all around maneuverability
and hover for the WTF factor
Check my Youtube channel for gaming footage from WOT and other games.

One of my favorite Mech Games, and smoothest I've played as a kid was Z.O.E.

I enjoyed Gundam Wing Endless Waltz as well, the heavily modified almost life like Gundams in some senses were amazing.

I like most flavors of Mechs, though I think my favoirte would be that of Powered Armor, such as the MJOLNIR Mk V and VI we see in Halo, or the armor (the name of which escapes me) in Section 8. I dont know if that counts though.

I love reverse-jointed mechs like the ATST and triple-jointed mechs like what we've got for the Assault mechs in this game so far. More options for those would be awesome.

I enjoy all flavors of mech (within reason), but I kind of grew up on Battletech and Mech Warrior stuff, so specifically those types of things.

Tactical usage of mechs on the battlefield, specifically built up for its purpose. Sometimes that can make the design look goofy and what not, but to see that goofy piece just tear through another bulky or skinny machine that looks more menacing makes me giggle.

well that was a useful poll lol
I personally HATES Gundam , not only for its repetitive stories but also for the horribly inefficient mechanical design , Mechs don't need HEADS or shoulders :o
What is this medieval battle__ why is the guy bringing a sword to a gun fight the one winning_
Why is the kid with ZERO training whatsoever the one winning against Battle Hardened and expertly trained soldiers with decades of experience___

i like mechs that fit in the real robot genre and for a game like hawken i like the more "realistic" approach, the feeling that you are piloting this machine is essential

I must be the only one on here who's gonna bring this up, but I LOVE Zone of the Enders mechs. The professional manufacturing, the precise design and angles, the sleek appearance of a super car concept in mech format. Did I mention they constantly stay airborne unless manually grounded by the runner_ Those and Metal Gears, pretty much anything Hideo Kojima has his name on.

Here's some gameplay, start in the middle to get to the meat.
