WHAT!_ "Power Supply: I would suggest at least a 500 watt power supply because of the graphics card i am about to suggest, 650 watt would be best."

A machine with Intel Core i7-3770K and GTX 690 consumes 450W maximum and this graphics card is for cracks only (dual GPU monster. The same machine using a GTX 680 uses less than 300W and with a 7979 GHZ Edition 350W. So please don't tell the guys that they do need new and stronger power supplies ;-)
The new generation might not actually. That's the CPU and GPU, but the RAM is a bitch, and amps are a concern. If you think watts are everything, you're not getting everything you can get out of your computer. You may only use 350 watts, but your GPU is SEVERELY downgrading itself to do so. Think instead of being able to use it's full 80 amps it wants on the 12v capable rail, you can ONLY use about 60. It does make a difference.
Here's something to consider:
CPU: 75W
GPU: 118W
RAM: neglible
Sound Card: 15w

Now that doesn't SOUND like a whole lot of watts. But what about AMPs_
CPU: 5.5-6amps
RAM: Neglible
GPU: 50(GTX 650) to 72(GTX680)
Sound card: 5

So then if you have a 350W PSU that can only push out 40 amps to the 12v rail, you can't use your GPU fully. You will lose frames(Granted it might still be livable, but you still lose em). Of course a 550W PSU is cheap enough, and if the right brand should supply enough AMPs.

I measured full load with CPU OC to 4,5 GHz ;-) So HDD(s), Ram, sound or whatever was also in the numbers ;)  The same system with 6870 (which you did "recommend" consumes about 230W at max in games. So a (silent) 300/350W PSU would be enough.. But sorry for focusing so much on that .....500-650W will definitely be sufficient

Hmm, can't edit the post. By the way for anybody who also thinks about upgrading his PC. The radeon 7870 gives you great value for your money right now or the nVidia 660 GTX if it drops a bit. If you do have a Core2Duo or Core2Quad you're still good to go for most games. No need to wast money every year.

The GTX 670's are the cards putting out the most bang for your buck right now in price/power comparisons @ about $290 a pop.

They've been compared in performance (Respectively) to the 480's and 560 Ti's as this generations go-to card for people on a budget.

When I say compared in performance I mean for that generation, not that the 480/560 Ti is on par with them performance wise.

Ahab: Yes you can still run it, but you won't get everything from your card you can. It can also cause system instability at times too. Through testing, it can be done. However, it's not always safe to do such things. Can you do it_ Yes. Should you_ Not if you can avoid it.

GFORCE 8800 GT 1024mb Palit...is this card acceptable_ I played bf3 with it on LOW SETTINGS and was very sad when I had to look at what my eyes were seeing ... ;-(
Hawken looks much better than BF3 so I am concerned about...
No idea if GForce 450 is better than mine 8800GT... I have a bigger number after all...

You might need to add a discrete card. It could run it, but there's absolutely no promise it will.

Probably fine, but that's a workstation and drafting laptop o.o It'll do geometry and shaders just fine, but textures could be an issue.

Yes that's what I thought it would do as well. It runs GTA 4 on max fine and Dayz well also so I'm thinking it should be fine.

Yes it will.
@Bio, you really have to ask_ Yes.
@Apoteoza The 450 is a better card by 4 fold as long as it's the one that came out 2 years ago. If yes, then yes it will be fine and better.
