The more i'm thinking about it, the more i think CTF is a great idea, even with just the basic rules.

New game modes sound awesome. I need some strangeness in my life. In my HAWKEN life, anyway, keep your strangeness out of my life because I am 300% done with it already.

I was thinking more along the lines of Caravan, either escorting or defending something that has to move from A to B. That would be *fairly* unique to HAWKEN and would absolutely keep the feel of the game, even if it isn't actually unique (which it isn't). But seriously, who says I only get to destroy mechs_ I want to shoot *all the things*

No matter what game mode gets added, I'll be in the Grenadier, just bein' all fat and stuff, so you Scouts better watch out grabbing that flag...

why not make it so you cant boost when you have the flag, it forces the team to stay behind and fight to keep the enemy off of your back.

or put the drop off point in the enemys base

I'm with ColdBound on this, having DM and TDM didn't make UnrealTournament, Halo, Battlefield, and CoD the same game.  These are the most basic forms of gametype, pure and simple.  Capture the flag is one that can get cheap if people get too creative.  I like the idea that it becomes a gametype.  Realistically, I don't see how the mecha are going to be able to "carry" a flag.

However, I do see collecting data cores (or some vital piece to the other team's faction) and taking that back to their respective bases to be downloaded.  However, to even download the data, your team's active datacore has to be set in the base.

They could carry it if it was an electronic beacon of some kind.
