Hey guys starting a bit of a contest here, lets have a hawken tan, (this is a challenge for any willing to /draw)

for those of you who are not familiar with the idea a TAN is basically a female mascot for something popularized for some corners of the internet when the operating systems (mostly windows) had a girl representing each OS fan drawn for them.



they do tend to come in anime flavors but that's not a requirement (though goggling these without safe search at work is not advised).

If you can't draw then why not contribute ideas instead artists can't just make this stuff up from nothing.

Well, I was always a fan of the 40's pin-up girl nose art on World War II Bombers. I vote for something classy and fuzzy bunny akin to that over another dime-a-dozen Girlchan kawaii desu.

I have no idea if this is kind of what you mean, but I did some art inspired by, like Phob said, 1940's pin-up Bomber art for my sig... and it sort of fits the idea... kind of_ Not even sure if I'm totally happy with this yet but oh well here you go

Finally, I found this thread.



I recently started my "hawken-tan project."
I did pixel art because pixel art is that I can do my best.
First mech is the scout, Moke-tan. (Because the mech's name is Moke.)
I think HAWKEN scout and TF2 scout has quite similarities: shotgun, fastest in the game, etc.
So maybe I got some concepts from TF2 one.
And mini flak cannon's original design is too weird to call it a shotgun so I changed the design into shotgun pistol.

And the second will be the Reaper!
I think it will be fun and easy because it's design is very distinctive.

I'd paint that on the "hood" of my Raider any day of the week!

Laila represents the game as a female "mascot" very well, but specific tan based on a mech type (like Moke-tan) is simply genius!

Out of respect for Brosie I would like to suggest that further Tans also include males. As it would seem to diminish what brosie did for hawken and the awareness it brought.

Huh. What a coincidence. Beemann and I were talking about this a little while ago.
The T-Shirt contest reminded me of when one of the Red5 devs decided to create tans of the game's creatures.

I'd love to see more.
