I thought about the same like HotDog did... Shipping costs which can´t/won´t be paid by the hosters so that the winner who maybe comes from outside of U.S. has to take them... this is very sad. It shows how the european countries (and other out-of-America countries) are supported by the gamemakers.
The always forgotten Europeans... this gives a bad aftertaste. It may be a "small thing" for you others, but it shows a lot to us Europeans loving the game. :(

I really doubt it's a cause of 'Europeans being forgotten', but more the case of a smaller company that can't absorb the costs of international shipping.

Have you priced the cost of international shipping lately_  It's crazy.  Real world example:

I was sending out parcels to various people in the US and in other countries (Canada, Germany, Australia, The UK, and The Netherlands).  These parcels were, on average, around 2.5 ounces in weight (a bit under 71 grams).  In just about all cases, the cost to send these out to the international destinations was five times the cost to send them to places in the US (two USD vs around 9 to 10 USD).

I was dealing with ounces.  It only gets worse as one approaches pounds/kilograms.

(I don't mean to necro threads, I'm just almost always running behind.  My apologies)

When this would be the reason, that this "small company" can´t absorb the one-time international shipping cost... I´m really scared about Hawken will never be published officially because they have no money...

Not a reason Aedesius for letting the EU PPL left out until..... Wait for it...... We need to pay the bill for shipment like 15-60$ Kills a Company!

Get it!!!

Not only EU PPL need to pay tax for MC, now for shipment just in case if a EU resident wins....

This is insulting!

For a Openminded game like Hawken should be. It is very U.S. centered!

HotDog,
Hawken is a multinational game. The contest though its coming from Welovefine, who is the US licensee. We have been letting people submit from all over the world its really not a problem.

Thanks
Aed

Hi CountryGal! Yes welovefine is a small company located in California. We are not employeed by Meteor Games, we work with them on Hawken as a apparel licensee.
Sure hope you submit your art to the contest, loved what i have seen you do!

I'm very glad to hear that! :D

I felt like in "big ouch" mode when I was reading on that the contest was limited to the States only.

Again, very, very glad to hear that and for the sake of the many individuals who have put such an amount of effort and love into their Hawken designs for this upcoming contest! ;) :D

In ADH&MTR we trust!

Plugging my design for good measure.
I don't expect to win, but it couldn't hurt.
