No, you will get a duplicate mech. So if you have bought all the mechs already or all the ones that you like and fit your play style, you will be getting a second one of all the mechs that you own.

I honestly can't really say I support this whole unlock mechs for free with progression thing. Makes me feel like all the credits I have earned were for nothing. I would have been fine with the idea though if it was a small handful of mechs, like maxing the Gren gets you the Vanguard or capping the CRT nets you the Assault.

Edit: Does anyone else think the category for some mechs are off_ Daheck_ Scout = defender!_ O_o_

You can focus those credits into more utility, such as the items, rather than having to save up for a new mech. Not really a bad deal since not having utility items can make combat lopsided.

Yeah, the scout as a defender is kinda baffling.  Scouts do more fleeing than defending.  It feels like they just needed something to fill that spot.

I'm disappointed that we just get garages full of duplicates.  I mean, what am I supposed to do with so many damn mechs_  I have everything but the rocketeer!

You've had these mechs for how long and you're expecting a refund_ You made the choice to invest your MC into mechs and other things which can be purchased with HC, which as you know can be earned by playing the game. I don't see how your decisions to spend your money in this manner suddenly means you deserve a refund when mechs are being offered for free through the new system.

Before you respond keep in mind that Hawken is in Open Beta which means the game can and will change as it progresses towards the actual release of the game. Everything from in-game pricing, game modes, stats, and unlockables are all subject to change.

This is why I only spend MC on things that can only be purchased with MC such as camos and mech parts. No sense in spending my hard earned money on something that I can purchase just by playing the game.

Just because a system changes after the game being out for over eight months doesn't mean everyone deserves a refund regardless of whether they spent HC or MC. If you go to the store and purchase something then a week later there is a buy one get one free deal do you get a refund_ Chances are very slim on that.

I'm amazed at how upset people are getting over free unlockable mechs.

Sadly i have to say, what could you give that would make this worthwhile, And why would you do it for what will eventually be a small subset of players_

This also really pisses me off because i BOUGHT all my mechs.. Is this compensation going to reflect i purchased them instead of spent time working up the credits_ Or are players like me getting compensation_

Sorry, but the awnser of "We'll do something later with dupe mechs" isn't going to cut it unless you're going to give even more to those who actually spend hard earned cash on them something extra and above.

As time goes on, I'm growing more unhappy with my Vanguard status. Mostly because the majority of MC has apparently been wasted.

I'm honestly happy that I'm going to be able to keep on playing with my grenadier without a hitch. But 99% of the community has bought a mech one way or another, and maybe a 1/10th of the population has bought their mech with MC.

Yeah, we keep our dupes but the value is severly devaluated, and not mentioning the MC bought ones as it was bought by paying customers. I know this is open beta and things will change on all, but this is bait and switch.

At least I now know that I won't be buying credits under any circumstance, and I'm a guy that sunk over 200 dls over multiple purchases and didn't mind at the least until now.

ive spent about $100 on hawken and i have no regrets at all. i got the benefits for 8 months already, far longer than i would play most games, and hawken is only going to keep getting better, it seems. if youve spent cash like me, for skins or occasional quick mech buy, be proud u supported the devs/helped build this game and reflect on all the fun/value youve already enjoyed. now release da paaaatch!

I know some of you have invested a lot of points in unlocking mechs, some have spent real money, but this system is great for new players like myself. Do you want a game system that attracts new players and promotes a healthy playerbase or would you rather whine about refunds_
I have unlocked 5 mechs so far and I will get some of those again as dupes, big deal. This is still open beta and I'd rather see a good system like this introduced and have people to play with and a game with a popular and long lifespan from launch.

Two weeks I've had them.  I have only had the time to level one of them to 25, with another at level 23.  The rest are all very low level because I haven't played much or had the chance to play with them a lot.  I really don't feel like I've gotten my moneys worth out of all of them yet.  The level 25 and soon to be level 25 one I would be OK with not getting a refund because I do feel like I've gotten my money from them, but definitely not the low level ones that have like 1 hour or less of game time on them.

EDIT: While I understand the game is in a state of development and blah blah blah this is still a business they are running and they need to make smart business decisions.  Take a company like Amazon for example.  If you buy something on Amazon and two weeks later the price drops for the item, you can get refunded the difference.  They are going from a model where they charged for mechs but are now giving them away for free, after only two weeks I definitely feel entitled to get a refund on my mechs.  I'm not asking for a refund of my money, I still want to play the game.  I made the investment because I love this game and want to support the developers.

EDIT2:  I've just remembered in the past playing games that have betas and allow you to buy store items previous to launch have had systems where they occasionally refund the in store credit after massive changes or resets to the game.  It would be acceptable to me if they allowed me to reset my progression gained from these mechs (losing both pilot and mech experience) to get a refund for them.  It would also be acceptable if, on official launch of the game, they reset everything and gave everyone an MC refund that way people who have been playing 200 hours and new people coming to a newly released title were on equal footing in terms of mech experience and pilot level, etc.  Which would allow us all to respend our MC on whatever we chose.

guys, come on, when you use mc for purchasing items/mechs what you are purchasing is early access.  you have already benefited from this access.

all they have done is add additional methods to grind for mechs, and will be adding a way for use to sell back our mechs (presumably for hc).

you are not being unfairly treated, nor is your purchase being devalued.  in fact the game 'appears' even more grindy in the upcoming release, so you should be happy to already have all your mechs so you can bank your extra hc for internals and whatnot.

Will mechs still be able to be purchased with Hawken credits/Meteor credits_

If we have an Infiltrator and get to max level, but are pilot level 1 will we unlock the Raider_

Will pilot level be based on play time, kills, wins/loss ratio, mmr(exp/min), or achievements_ My guess is play time, but I fear it will involve achievements.

Hopefully this progression system is just a new third option of getting a mech. It would be very disappointing to be forced to play a mech(C-class or technician) to unlock a mech we desire.

Someone quoted the rules for buying meteor credits in this or another thread, I'm not sure which, but it states that meteor credits will not be refunded. You are expecting far to much if you expect to get meteor credits back for something purchasable with HC. I know I've spent meteor credits on items, mechs and cosmetics but I don't really expect to be reimbursed. I would like them to do away with the multiple mechs and just allow us to customize the mechs in game so that second mechs aren't necessary. Let me have separate loadouts if customizing mid game isn't an option.

Except that it doesn't actually harm the new system's implementation to refund HC.  There is no "A or B" decision to make as both are quite feasible.

If we can't turn the duplicates into something useful, it's not the end of the world, but it does mean that the newbies get to take advantage of the new system while the vets get left out.  That's not exactly what you call rewarding loyalty.
