Has anyone got it to work in the latest version of Hawken_ I'm new to the rift and thought I'd give it a go. I've gotten it to work in various games/applications but Hawken won't even show up in the right display mode. The menu just looks as usual and I don't have to option to choose the oculus in "devices".

one of the things you had to do with the old version was run it with the -vr flag.

set the launch options like this.

Hi,
I've tried that, but it doesn't work for me. The oculus is set as my main monitor, but the game starts as usual. Any idea_

I download the new Feb 14th 11:00 AM Early Access Hawken into my Steam Account and I can also NOT figure out how to Enable Oculus Rift Support. I Purchased this Game on Stream SPECIFICALLY to play it with my Oculus Rift as it promised it would be compatible with my Oculus Rift.

Can someone in support please supply us with ONE definitive Link with clear, precise step by step directions for Enabling Oculus Rift support for our Steam enabled Hawken some we can start using our Oculus Rift Hardware today hopefully!!!

Thank you in advance

This was working before Steam, but I cannot get it working in the steam version at all. Tried many different combos of monitors etc, resolutions, editing INI files, -vr, no luck. Hanging out to try this with th Rift dev kit!!

Not trying to be impatient... but I'm frothing to have a go at this on the Rift! If we could get some backup here that'd be splendid...

Cheers

This does not work. Tried previously and just tried again. Nadda.

Ok after checking out the other thread about steam issues, i was able to get it working by turning off display mirroring.

Set up the rift as a separate monitor in your windows display settings, it then loads HAWKEN on the rift rather than your primary monitor.

I bought Hawken when it was released on steam. I had to do nothing to get it to work. started the game as normal. Checked the box to enable rift. Restarted the game and it worked. The steam community check box didn't matter for me and just as an fyi I HAD to set up my monitors separate by having Extended desktop for the rift to kick on. I didn't even need the -vr. I'm more curious if they have said anything about an update to fix the HUD setup being hard to deal with and the target brackets around units being in the wrong focus_

This was my experience:

Fresh install from steam
Enable the rift in the devices menu.
Rift in extended mode.
Resolution set to 1280x800
Restart the game and it should only appear on your rift in the correct format.
Just tried and its quite nice. However a lot of the HUDs dont scroll (like the main menu does) so is impossible to read (especially since you can't see it on your other monitor).

I have read elsewhere some of the issues other users were have is where config files were adjusted for the old way of turning on VR and this is now conflicting. Anyway good luck to everyone getting this working again. Hopefully the team will improve VR support soon so it becomes more playable. Certainly lots of potential.

Man I have tried all of this and everything on the steam forum as well.  Have messed with it for several hours on 3 different occasions now and it never works, I give up.

I have a great idea, lets put this game on Steam with a feature that might get potentially thousands of people to give it a try (and was working prior to Steam) then not have that feature work.  Then to top it off lets not say a word and pretend the people do not exist.  I played this game long before it came to Steam and unfortunately only got my Oculus a few days after it migrated to Steam.  Uggg.

By the way its a totally different game but Elite Dangerous Alpha on Oculus Rift is jaw dropping and works like butter.

I am also one of those that just bought the game from steam only for the announced oculus rift-support. I have been googling solutions and have tried everyone I have found, and I have made 4 clean installs, but nothing. I only got it to work once, and that was the third time I launched it, but after that nothing. The game runs, and I can view it in oculus without 3d or headtracking, but nothing else.

You have to fix this issue, and before its fixed you have to communicate your effort to solve it. Otherwise I will start screaming for a refund!

I'm also having this issue. After activating rift in the devices setting and restarting, when I return I cannot change any of the settings, the options under "activate rift". Acts as if nothing has changed.

It looks the same as if I'm looking at my desktop through the oculus, all cross eyed like.

Edit: I got it to work. Removed -vr unchecked steam in game and made sure monitors were setup for extended with the rift as monitor 2. Works great now.
