Hey all,

Skrill here. I noticed that we have a bunch of fresh pilots post patch. First, to all you new players out there, Welcome to Illial. I think I speak for all veteran pilots when I say that we hope you stick around and come to love the game as much as we have over the last year.

On to the meat of things! I think it is safe to say that Hawken is much more team oriented than most first person shooters. Because of this I wanted to create a thread where veteran pilots and meet up with new guns and show them how to play as a team using the communication provided in game (text and voice). These channels are invaluable when setting up flanks and tricking the enemy team into a trap.

So, if your a veteran willing to play a game with, and provide feedback to, one or two of the new guys PM me and I will add you to the list below. Keep in mind...Posted Image

But seriously this is a great way to pick up some karma points, and, as gamers don't we all need more points.

I'm not necessarily interested in helping out at all times however I have many top tier players willing to help out any new player seeking guidance after our scrims, provided you have footage or specific questions you'd like to have the opinion of top tier players on.

https://community.pl...ims-descension/
Note: Suggested pilot level of 25+ if you're interested, however all are welcome below 25 as long as they are not too far below the avg skill floor of players participating. No player below 25 will be turned away.

Hi All,
OK - I'm not new to video games, either off or online, but each game has it's own quirks & learning curve. And while I'm loven' HAWKEN so far I've bumped into a question that is surely of the dumb/pilot error variety, so any replies most appreciated & I'll take my lumps accordingly.

I've reached Pilot Level 3 & game informs I'm now eligible to unlock the Rocketeer.  But after poking around the Garage & the Player's Guide on the website I still can't see HOW to actually unlock the new mech - the actual mechanics of performing the unlock in-game.

Again, thxs for any help.

Play another game. It will unlock as an Achievement and then the shiny new Rocketeer will be sitting in your garage after the game.

edit: If that doesn't work, submit a ticket to Customer Service. It should just be sitting in your garage after you get the Pilot Level 3 Service Award (or whatever it's called).

As glad as I am that Hawken put new training modes into the game, there are a lot of areas that they miss. For instance Siege and Missile Assault. Not to mention some simple mech mechanics they fail to mention all together.

So, 10 pm it is! I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield. Send me a friend invite.

I'd be willing to be put on the list. If you're a newbie, just add me as a friend ingame and send me a PM, so I know who to look for!

Bit of background: I am a long-time player (alpha tested) and lurker on the forums. I'm not the best, but not the worst either. I main A-classes, mostly the Berserker, so I am best able to answer questions about them. I think the Hawken community is full of great people who love the game.

Once you add me I can join your game, or if you're feeling lucky, you can join mine. Doesn't matter to me.

Be forewarned, I teach by example, not exegesis. I'll be able to answer questions, but it's better just to be thrown into the game IMO, when it comes to strategy and tactics.

I usually play evenings and late nights EST.
I like mushrooms! And I bring good luck!

I don't think I'd qualify as a master  Just wanted to show my support for the thread

but if any newer players are looking for some help in the UK (or the EU) I'd be more than happy to team up. I do pretty well most games

If anyone wants to ad as a friend ;)  I wont bite.

I'm not exactly the most skilled, but I'd be more than happy to pass down some of my "veteran" knowledge to a newbie.  Except my attendance would be few and far in between due to a tough schedule until November, but I'd at least want to have my name out there so if any newbies see me, they wouldn't be afraid to approach me.

I would say I specialize on the Grenadier and the Reaper in particular, and I'm not too bad at the others either, so come to me! :)
