But all the credits are for the guys (Xacius and Umbre) who brought this to the forums. I just looked for an alternative because Mumble didn't work for me ...
And saw that Xacius for example, using Mumble couldn't disable the overlay and, sometimes, it's needed.
(saw some script over there to use with Autohokey to turn on/off the overlay but, for my taste, there are just too many steps).

And i'm using the other overlays too, like the clock. Now I don't need to have my second monitor turned on just to see what time it is

Custom crosshairs has been a long time coming. They should have had them by now imho.

Most likely right though. Although it would be cool if they gave us the option to upload our own as well as giving us some presets. After all its not like having custom camo that everyone can see. Only you can see your cross-hairs.

That is true.  Using a completely custom crosshair is a totally client-side issue and it doesn't need to be parsed onto the server for everyone to see.  So maybe a completely custom crosshair as an option is going to exist, but I think they would still allow us to choose from premades for the not-so-knowledgeable crowd that just wants to drop in and go.

You have to be in a server to apply the avatar, unfortunately.

Does anyone know if the playclaw overlay will work together with the teamspeak overlay_ If they both can be on the screen at the same time, I'm going to playclaw ASAP.

I'm glad you could fix it. I didn't have that problem but now I know what to do if it happens to me or my friends.
PS: Hope you can turn off the overlay now during your streams

Dunno, I didn't test it but I think that It should work and if not, maybe in the paid version :S.
I'm using the following Playclaw overlays, all together:
- FPS
- Clock
- Image
- Sometimes, CPU

But dunno if the TS overlay works in a different way. But it's there to use, then it have to work, I think.

Been doing some random crosshairs just for fun (Was a good practice for my crappy Illustrator skills also), my purpose was to make them fit with the actual crosshair in a way that it still provided the same information but looked a bit better:


Here the one Im currently using (the one I like the most also)



I encourage you to try them out and feel free to suggest anything, if you need help setting it up holla at me.

P.D. I named each folder according to the resolution of the crosshair, remember this if you are setting them up for playclaw.

Also they look better when they are actually in the game xD (Since they match the current crosshair)

If the user-made crosshair is worse than the standard crosshair, then it can't be cheating - it would just be self-sabotage in that case.

If the user-made crosshair is better than the standard crosshair... well, then perhaps you have work to do as a developer aside from banning discussions of it.

Ummm...they already came into this thread and said it was ok and not against the TOS_ Plus this discussion isn't banned so...like... well, then perhaps you have some work to do as a poster aside from making assumptions about discussions of it_

I think this post is kind of necroposting, so sorry if it is...

I created a crosshair overlay to ease in bead focus ingame - I get tunnel vision trying to zero that little white diamond.

also, blue chroma for allies, red chroma for enemies... leaves green chroma, IMO to be the most contrastive hue.

And yes. White letters on white Background are hard to see.

I'm 40 but there are many college aged players who use overlays.  
They changed the crosshair because the OLD HUD apparently took a lot of resources.

There may also be cosmetic issues besides functionality.  Several players here have commented they prefer the new cleaner look which is more in line w/ other modern shooters.  On the other hand, I'm with the camp that feel the new one lacks character/charm and is more in line w/ other modern shooters (which I do not play).  I wonder if there is similar divide in ADH or if they all prefer the new look based solely on cosmetics.  

Finally, we all agree that old crosshair provided additional information (reload for primary/charge status) etc.  
I also feel the new cross hair's expanding reticules is also distracting and worthless.  In other games, this apparently tells you your spread_  I don't think there's the same benefit here as firing your secondary shouldn't effect your primary's accuracy.

AutoHotKey works flawlessly for me.  Setup was very simple. Supports toggling between two custom crosshairs or OFF using END key, centering (HOME key), and disabling.
