Steam Group

Mission:

I'm starting a new clan focused on teamwork and tactics. I'm not looking to make Hawken a career, I'm just tired of PUGs filled with people who all insist on dying alone rather than winning together. I'll try my best to keep a roster up to date and if we get enough members. For now this is an experiment. We'll see how well it does before I commit a lot of time and energy into it.

This is a recruitment thread. If you want to join, all I need is your Call Sign, Steam Name, your favored mechs, and when you're most likely to be on (don't forget to list your GMT offset!). Feel free to post them if you're interested.

General Rules:

I figured these would go without saying, but then I realized it would be best to say them anyway.
  • No unsportsmanlike behavior. Win or lose, you WILL maintain dignity.
  • No bigotry or hatred. This should be covered under sportsmanlike behavior, so the fact that I'm singling it out should tell you how serious I am. If I see or hear slurs, racism, sexism, or anything of the like, it doesn't matter what your rank is, you will be gone.
  • No arguing orders. If your Sergeant gives an order, you follow it. If you thought it was wrong, bring it up after the match. Active combat is not the place to discuss tactics.

TeamSpeak:

I run a TeamSpeak server and I do like for all members to at least connect to it while playing together so that if nothing else, you can at least hear discussion and orders. The server address can be found in the steam group, available of course, only to members.

I believe in this epic mission and I am eager to be the first private to join the ranks.

Every time I play, I feel the need for more structure and more importantly proper communication.

I have a decent mic and wish everyone would spend the fiver it takes for at least a cheap working mic.

Please check my ranks and see if I am up to your standards.

I look forward to your reply.

Just need your Steam name, your favored mechs, and your most active times (with GMT offset)

Okay, I've set up a TeamSpeak 3 server on my machine, so we'll see how many resources that eats while we run the game.

Michonne, I've added you as a private, but I still need some info from you. In other news, Private Dzonii has also been added to the roster (though I still need your Steam name).

Finally, I edited the top post to specify that for now, if you're a member, I'd appreciate if you subscribe to this thread as this is where I'll be posting info and news as I build the clan.

What we play will be up to what the squad wants to play at the time. If someone needs dailies, we should help em out, if we just wanna stop some TDM, why not_

of all the mechs i like the Reaper, Bruiser, and the Crt so far, my picture on steam is of a red blue and purple nebula looking thing
( look on google images for the eye of terror and you'll have the picture).

added teamspeak information to the top post

TeamSpeak 3

I've set up a TeamSpeak 3 server for squat chat, and the address is available upon request. It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: do not share this IP address with non-members -- it is for your eyes only.

When you connect, please include your rank and Hawken call sign in your Nick Name. Feel free to also include an actual nick name if you'd like, but those two pieces of information are crucial for staying organized. For example: PVT mmm_yep (Blake). (See Explination of Ranks and Responsibilities for abbreviations)

There are two channels for now, Alpha Squad and Bravo Squad. I will add more as necessary, but since we don't have that many members yet, I don't assume we'll be needing that many different channels.

If, at any time, you need to jump back to this thread, the HOME icon with the question mark in the upper right hand corner of the TeamSpeak 3 client will link you directly to it.

Just throwing this out to any interested PVTs and SPCs... I'm looking to form a blitz core. I tend to utilize the Rocketeer to bombard an area and whittle the enemy down. I'd like a pair of fast Burst/Assaults on my wing to rush in as finishers after I have pre-soaked an area. You get the glory of the kill(s) and I'll live with the assists. Then we would either hold the targeted area/zone, or regroup/heal and allow the enemy to repopulate it - then repeat the blitz. Since the game only supports 3 or 6-man teams, I am planning this to be a very tight 3-man team.

This is purely experimental and voluntary on your part. If it doesn't work, so be it. No worries. I believe general players will focus on me as the initial missile thrower and ignore you until you strike hard and fast. And it will be too late for them to counteract. In theory.

We will need good knowledge of the maps and agree on pre-formed rally points/target areas.

My name is "Thresh_1" in the game and "Thresh" on Steam. My icon looks like a faceless reaper on Steam. Naturally, a mic is required. :)

Propaganda. Death ensemble. Burial to be. Corpses rotting through the night In blood-laced misery.
Scorched earth the policy. The reason for the siege. The pendulum it shaves the blade. The strafing air blood-raid.
Infiltration. Push reserves. Encircle the front lines. Supreme art of strategy playing on the mind.
Bombard until submission TAKE ALL TO THEIR GRAVES. Indication of triumph, the numbers that are dead.
