I've made some structural changes to the chain of command. These changes aim to simplify the ranks and help differentiate between their names and responsibilities.

Privates are now Recruits and Private First Class is now just Private (see below for more information).

Sergeant (SGT): Sergeants are those in charge of squads and tasked with the burden of command. It is their job to monitor the battle and decide how best to utilize the specialists at their disposal. Communication is a Sergeant's paramount skill and as such, Sergeants must have a working microphone to utilize voice chat.

It is the sergeant's duty to build their team, which can consist of any ranked member of the guard. For more information, see the Teams post, below.

Sergeant Major (SGM): Sergeant Majors function the same as Sergeants, but with the additional responsibilities of advising the Praetor and help maintain and organize the Guard.

Praetor (PTR): There is only one Praetor, and the Praetor has absolute, final decision-making responsibilities for all matters within the Praetorian Guard. The Praetor may delegate these responsibilities, but they are never relinquished.

Due to the restructuring and renaming of ranks, mmm_yep, Dzonii, and Scaevola have been reassigned as Privates. This makes no functional change, all that's changed is the name of the rank.

The rank Specialist will now be reserved for members who have been drafted by a Sergeant into their squad.

Good question. At the time I wasn't familiar with each mech, especially their names.

He probably meant to type G2, meaning the Assault G2. But now that there is another G2 mech (Raider G2), you have to be more specific.

Judging by the time, I'd say the Assault for sure. The Raider G2 wasn't even mentioned yet, and it's just at a week old.
