There were no rumors, but real plans - DJ2 Entertainment obtained rights to make a live-action adaptation in 2011. They never actually produced anything other than the live-action trailer that still exists today and many in the company had no prior experience to speak of or had simply popped up out of nowhere. In 2012 at comic con it was mentioned that the adaptation was passed off to the Act of Valor director, Scott Waugh, and virtually nothing has been heard of the project since. Seeing as how he is currently directing another film and he directed the most recent Need For Speed I'd wager that the live-action adaptation is dead in the water.

Why can't people in the community make a movie_

I suggest 2 types.

1 movie is comprised of in game video footages and dubbed dialogues

1 movie live action about gamers playing hawken and either getting sucked into Illial and fighting to get back to earth {saving us from the Hawken virus}


The community has scriptwriters, video technicians, tons of footages, etc.
All we need is a project leader {team hawken person to oversight and liason}.
Don't say we can't do it...

If only we had some kind of server or build that people could play on where players could give opinions about a new patch before it's actually finalized. A place where players could go "whoa man, that's a horrible idea" or "that looks great, just need to fix this, this and this". To my knowledge such a place doesn't exist
