Just got to play it for the first time today.  Was out of town :(

Gotta say I love it.

On topic; runs smooth(mostly) at 120fps with everything maxed.

Only drops I see is when there is a lot of explosion and specials(emp ect.)in the vicinity, like.. alot, Monitoring program said the lowest fps I saw was 68.

3930k @5.2ghz

GTX 690 SLI
GTX 690 SLI

32gig ram

Win 7 Ult
Hope that isnt just for gaming, i have a 3930k i use it for: Video editing/rendering, Folding at Home, Blender, VMs.
3930k shows its true power in things other than gaming.

The framerate difference between min & max detail is small.

The complexity of the game's mechanics don't warrant the hardware requirements at all.
There must be something terribly optimized in the game logic for it to be eating so many cpu cycles.
No, it's really that AMD CPUs are horrid at low-thread performance. The Phenom IIs are about as good as a Core 2 Duo. Their newer processors are actually slightly worse up until the recent FX-8350 - which is still pale compared to any Intel i-series.

I get 20-40 FPS ;( all low settings.
Atrocious videocard, so low that that's an OEM card and not a retail one. Get at least a 660 Ti and you'll be one happy camper, I bet.

I'm running Hawken on a laptop with an i5 2450M and a Geforce 630M with the latest drivers by nvidia. It runs pretty smoothly with high/ultra settings... sometimes the frame rate drops but otherwise it runs pretty smoothly. It's insane how much more fluid the game got since yesterday. I barely had it running above medium/high...

Cf. my face when I ran it this morning on high/ultra without a lag: Posted Image

+1, so many people overspec their computers and use them for nothing but gaming or watching youtube videos and the like. (A/V engineer here)

I rather have this setup than the 3930k for practical use and gaming or both!

Sadly the SR-X isnt overclockable, or should i say LGA 2011 Xeons arnt. But still an amazing rig. Shame he is using one monitor, even if it is 2560x1600 res.

I'm using a Athlon II x2 250 @3.0ghz ,4gb of ddr3 RAM, and an HD 6670 1gb ddr5. On a res of 1280x1024 (its an older monitor) I can play med/high with out too many issues. I could give some actual frames but I can't get the CB client to work..
Jean-Luc Picard: Q, what is going on_
Q: I told you. You're dead. This is the afterlife. And I'm God.
Jean-Luc Picard: [laughs scornfully] You are not God!
Q: Blasphemy! You're lucky I don't cast you out or smite you or something. The bottom line is, your life ended about five minutes ago, under the inept ministrations of Dr. Beverly Crusher.
Jean-Luc Picard: No... I am not dead. Because I refuse to believe that the afterlife is run by you. The universe is not so badly designed.

40-60fps on 1920x1080 on ultra settings.
They need to add a option in the menu to unlock the fps or limit to the refresh rate.

Phenom 9750 Quad OC'd to 2.6 ghz.
Nvidia 9800 GT
4 GB DDR2 Corsair

I'm a bit behind on the technical scene, but with time comes my salary. Upgrading is around the corner.

While you're right, the phenom ii is lackluster clock for clock (about 10% faster than an equally clocked core2), you're also completely missing the point.

Up until now this machine has been fine with pretty much everything that's been thrown at it; the only games in recent history that needed serious reduction in settings were Metro 2033 (very gpu heavy), and Skyrim (antiquated inefficient engine).

Many of these games that run flawlessly are graphically impressive with expansive worlds & complex physics.

By comparison at min detail Hawken looks fuzzy bunny, it has a small, static environments, and the entity physics are something I'd expect to find in a title from the mid-90s.
It is simply not presenting anything that justifies the poor performance; in heavy combat I'm seeing framerates drop below 20fps on some maps - from a gameplay perspective that's unacceptable.

If they can't get the game to run at a consistent & acceptable level on a 3.4GHz Phenom II 6 core machine, coupled with a 5870, then the game is going to have such a tiny potential market that I anticipate it'll be a commercial disaster.

So to reiterate, yes there are far more powerful cpus & far more powerful gpus - but the game simply isn't doing anything to justify them as a requirement.

:edit:

An even more damning comparison is that Planetside 2 runs better than Hawken most of the time.
A 2000 player first person shooter with massive environments & infinitely more complex game mechanics.
Something is srsly wrong.

GTX 460 1gb

First-gen i5 (ie, 2500k iirc)

8gb RAM

128 GB SSD, two 1TB HDDs and two externals.

This machine will be two years old in Febuary. My settings are a full 1080p resolution, with graphics on ultra with PhysX and MLAA both on and AA set to 8X. V-sync is OFF. Something I've learned the hard way to leave off in multiplayer games. The game is smooth sailing 90% of the time, though I have noticed it can chug a bit with I get hit in the face with a lot of explosion effects at once.

I can appreciate uber-overkill though, really I can.

I WAS running a ZOTAC 9800 GT, an Intel 2,4 ghz Core2 Quad and 6 gb of ram
but then my graphics card died on Saturday, so I'm gonna head out and pick up a new one
As it stands I could already run almost everything (exceptions including Sleeping Dogs, Planetside 2, Call of Pripyat) on the highest settings
I even modded in Skyrim so it would look nicer, and only have issues when I approach cities (because Open Cities makes me happy enough that I'm willing to put up with framerate drop for it... Gotta love being able to sneak in and out of Whiterun)

...so I expect great things from my new DX11-compatible upgrade/replacement
