But it's the first time I got it recorded. This happens to me once every few games, though this was the most severe event.
It starts slow. You can't fire your weapons. Then the people around you stop moving. Then you start typing "what the hell is going on". Then you cut to someone else, apparently the guy who killed you while you were incapable of doing anything.
Then. You watch him play until you get kicked for idling because you can't spawn.
I didn't get the beginning recorded, but I did get this extra long kill cam.

The game is now completely unplayable for me. I don't know why. My ping hovers around 30, but every single time I go to shoot someone, and almost exclusively when I'm about to shoot someone, the game does this. I'll be back tomorrow. I love this game, but this has been happening more and more for me lately, and it's just not playable right now.

It happened again. And it was a great game that was ruined. Same thing. Everyone stops moving, guns stop firing, cut to me being dead, can't respawn. This happened a couple minutes before the game ended, so fortunately I wasn't kicked for idling this time.

Uh... even in the video the server info isn't there. I have no idea what is going on.

And video for the purpose of bearing witness to this absurdity.

ReEvolve, I reinstalled though I didn't do anything else, though I'm kind of under the impression that the issue is server side. I have a hard time considering the idea that files on my computer are preventing me from respawning, though I'm happy to listen to anyone with some technical prowess here.

My system does this about once a month. Used to do it (like the smaller pic) once or more a week, preAscension. I've submitted bug after bug. good luck.

edit: btw, it "staggers" and locks for about 1/2 second about 5 times a day on this image--if it's near the end of an Epic match, my heart drops thinking i may have lost my match score. this has been getting worse for about the last 3 days.
i'm positive it's ADH.

I would be ok once a month.. This has been happening multiple times a day. Even still, I'm sorry to hear that.

Did you already call your ISP about that_   My first thought is that there could be something wrong with the connection, for example more packet loss than there should be because of your modem/router becoming lazy...

It's my theory because this problem doesn't seem to affect many others, and to me it doesn't sound like something that could be caused by local files nor your specific account.

I'm no expert though, and since others get this problem occasionally, I have some doubts about my theory.


Oddities can also happen because of an overclocked CPU or GPU.

Something similar happened to me. I couldn't even quit out of Hawken or ctrl-alt-delete. But after some keymashing, I noticed I still had chat, so I backspaced until I had a clear console and typed "disconnect."

After another several seconds of hanging, I got kicked back to the garage and could quit out. The upside is that when I got back into the game eventually, it saved my score. The downside was that it didn't count as my win of the day because when i finally reconnected, I was in game for less than a minute.

This happened to me during War Wednesday a while ago... I ended up watching OmegaNull play until the server kicked me. I was also getting the teleporting issue. Turns out Steam was downloading updates while I was playing. I turned that off and now I only have teleport problems when my daughter is watching Netflix.

Yeah those all sound like they point to connection issues. Hawken seems to run on very little bytes per second (WAY less than browsing web pages) but when there is some packet loss or errors the Hawken server might not like you, so you get inconsistent ping, "teleporting", bad hit registration, and at worst might kick or idle too much. Sometimes I've been in connection limbo during matches, and after dying I'd "freeze" for 10 or 15 seconds, but managed to get back.

tickle, I assume you're not running anything heavy on bandwidth in the background and your router / LAN is all wired ethernet_ My stuff's wired and as long as there isn't heavy torrenting / downloading from other clients on the LAN things are butter smooth in my experience so far. Also I wonder if your ISP is switching your IP address at bad times (but probably not). Lots of variables on the client side that the servers might not like.

This happens to me on occasion as well, except usually I don't get the long kill cam, my game just freezes entirely. It starts out like you described though, and it seems like often when this happens I can hear what sounds like a continuously firing vulcan (regardless of whether there was one around)


EDIT: I should mention, it seems to occur when my internet fuzzy bunnies
