This game has negative crossfire scalling. I had greater performance with 1 card active then both. There was supposedly a CAP for Hawken but didn't seem to do very much.

Hopefully either AMD or Adhesive address this issue

Wow this is saddening. I'm running:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-2600K Quad-Core Processor, 4x 3.4 GHz; Socket 1155, 8MB L3 Cache
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB - CrossFire Mode (Dual Cards)
Main Memory: 16GB (4GB x4) DDR3-1333 Memory
Hard Drive: 2TB 7200rpm Hard Drive
Running 1920x1080 resolution

I've been playing on LOW settings just to maximize my framerate, on high and ultra it dips into the 30's and below. Next beta access I will try turning off crossfire and see how that works.

This game needs to get optimized for crossfire! (Sorry I am not a tech-savvy person but I just want this remedied!)

Um... this is a Closed Beta. This is the period where the big bad bugs get squashed (like, nobody can download the game, or nobody can download the patch for the update for the game, or nobody can join any servers, or everybody's mechs keep resetting to level 0) first and then you get fancy and optimize for performance.

Make it work, then make it fancy.

I don't know what the devs' plans are specifically for Crossfire/SLI, but I'm confident that there'll be optimization between now and launch. I actually noticed a minor performance bump after the mid-test patch, but it only made a difference of about 3fps so it wasn't anything to write home about, but control felt just a little snappier.

The devs can do absolutely nothing about adding Crossfire support - AMD has to build that into their drivers. Go bug them.

Another reason I'm glad to own an nVidia GPU... it won't take 3 months to get that kind of support, unlike AMD. (Indeed, I think they already added a Hawken SLI profile around Alpha 2.)

I'd strongly recommend disabling Crossfire until AMD releases a driver update that includes it for Hawken. You'll probably have much better performance then.

Thanks for replies. I just wanted to bring more attention to it because there were a handful of players including myself getting very low frame rates and making it unplayable for some and a disadvantage for others (as seen in some performance threads). Thought it would be better to bring some awareness early and let the devs decide when is most appropriate (at least the graphics-related department).

I wasn't too sure on whose part it was to get this integrated, but as darkpulse had mentioned, I think I saw hawken mentioned in one of AMD's updates (I'll try and pull it up later). Anyway my fingers are crossed! Good idea; I'll post in AMD forums.

Maybe it's just crossfire then. Thanks.

im running a Single 6870´s,  i dont know how much FPS, but Beta 1 was very Smoothly all maxed out except motion Blur (think it was capped @60fps) running 12.10 Catalyst AMD Athlon II (4x3GHz) 8GB Ram (1600mhz) 7200rpm HardDrive and 1920x1080 Resolution ... you should try it out without X-Fire ur System is a bit Faster than mine :D
