Great job on the newly patched material! The updates sound pretty good; Can't wait to see what other goodies are in store ;)
Hopefully CBE2 performs with better stablility then last beta. Hawken was running pretty good on my machine towards the end after all the quick patches were dished out.

A good way to solve not having a high end PC is lowering the quality of the game's video settings. Low texture quality, disable everything you can that is not necessary to play the game (shadows [if possible in Hawken], motion blurr, try enabling or disabling Vsync). If you have an Nvidia card you can exit the game and make sure you have "prefer High Performance" under power management in the Nvidia control panel. I assume ATI cards have similar. When you are playing the game try disabling, turning off other programs that might be competing with Hawken for CPU, RAM and graphics.

Good luck with all that.

With settings on medium/low it should run on medium and lower end PCs. Im running it on a one year old notebook (not a high-end machine) on max settings and usually sits around 30-40 fps dropping to 15 in intense fights. If i turned my settings down I'm sure FPS would rise accordingly. (but i love the graphics too much)

I'm guessing no changes to in-game hardware and mechanics were implemented_ Like perhaps Flac for every class, or tweaks to EMP_

Can you guys make any comments on the direction of customization_ It seems that the system has become more and more limited as time's gone by, and it make me sad / nervous. Is this due to you guys looking for more focused tests, or is this the way you're actually planning on going into open beta / launch_

You compromised when you purchased your computer, you should understand that compromise must also happen when you select your graphical settings. Can you explain how your lack of pocketbook constitutes a failure on the part of the development team_

Keep in mind that the beta test starts "around" noon, not "exactly at" noon. But still, it's likely going to kick off in under an hour.

Simple. I feel it's worthless compared to the Slug Rifle. Hawkins fires faster but even with the faster ROF, it seems only "about as effective" as the Slug Rifle.

Plus, the faster ROF means that your enemy gets more notice of his armor bleeding away and could give him a chance to turn and burn, whereas with slug, he may be a lot less clear on if he can take the hit or not. Psychological advantage.

Regarding the performance, I've been running it great on my old(ish) 2x 275 in SLI, with everything in ultra at 1920x1200 (and it looks great). Can't wait to try it with the Oculus Rift.

As for the new beta, I really love the armor points display when repairing (most of the time the old indicator would be out of sight when placing the mech near a wall/corner for cover.
