There have been times where I accidentally press the Windows key during a fight and it takes me to the desktop. :D  Is there a way to ignore it while I play_

You've got a choice.

Disable the Windows key (note that this disables it completely), or
Wait for Hawken to be updated to block Windows key events from being picked up by Windows, or
Don't hit the Windows key.

Ok, I'm going to disable it completely for now until they update it.  Thanks

You can also buy keyboards now that have a "disable windows key" switch, such as the Logitech G510

I also know a few people who physically remove the keycap of the Windows key from their keyboards.

Easy just glue the key tight from moving you don't really need it anyway.

Bind the Windows Key(s) to something you might use in game even if that something is bound to another key that you do use in game. This should prevent that key from performing its Windows function while in Hawken.
