mech fortification booster glitch

I have ran into this on 2 occasions wile i was a brawler. You basically get to mech fortify (were you put down the shields and take extra damage) and boost around making you one tough to kill mech. I honestly have no idea how i did it. It
Lv 5 Bruiser "The Shredder"
Lv 5 Rocketier "The Black Dog"
Lv 5 Brawler "The Blood Brawler"
Lv 2 Reaper "The Black Reaper"
Lv 2 Raider "The Buster Bunker"
