Lastly Since it seems we have more members than players who will participate in the tournament i would like to propose "division B" or "semi-pro" matches for players who haven't been selected to represent their clan in the tournament, to have fun and compete with other clans aswell.

Edit: If i don't get fired from my job in the upcoming weeks i will support Husky in his generous endeavor and provide an additional 20canadian$ to the charity of the winning teams choice.

As far as making sure no one interrupted the matches, i planned on just having having someone take up the 6th slot on each team and just stand in the back of the base(hopefully their will be some people willing to do that). But if we could get a private server that would work best. On that note, I think for this first one it is going to be 5v5 only.

As far as the division B goes, the only problem is were one of the few clans who actually have such an excess of good players lol, so I'm not sure who they play against. Also, even though a person may not participate in all matches it is important to have subs ready in case people don't show up, have to leave suddenly, or if the original team doesn't meet the specifications of the mech-restricted match (for ex, say we end up running 3 A's 1 B and 1 C, we would need one of our A's to swap out for a B or C class specialist).

Lastly, thank you so much for the support Hobo, words cannot express my gratitude to anyone who helps get this thing off the ground with donations like that.

Now on to why I popped my head in here in the first place I would just like to make it clear that in no way does the "coalition" represent the Wandering Guns in any way shape or form. The Wandering Guns are just that...wanderers. The fact that they have formed a group, and have given it a name makes them their own body separate from ours. In no way shape or form should their thread, or actions in-game reflect on any of the rest of us.

Not at all. There was a fuss about their thread, and them naming themselves something controversial that offended people. At any rate there is no need to name yourselves something if your already aligned with a community, so essentially they are not Wandering Guns and we don't understand why they are still calling themselves WGs. The rest of us just don't want their drama reflecting bad on anyone else in our community.

I have put together a small 8 team playoff of the best clans about a week after open beta,DATE, SATURDAY THE 22ST, TENTATIVE TIME 5 EST(enough time for people to level their mechs and see if there are any major balance issues)

It should include Steel killers, Black Steel Brotherhood, Dirtnap, Dodges All Day, The coalition, old world lancers, Developer team, (I will update when I receive final confirmation). I’ve spoken with representatives from each and to paraphrase their response "Fuzzy bunny yea lets do it!
Raw Messiah may also participate.
Still awaiting responses from Madkat and the Fuzzy Bunnies

This being the first tournament, seeding will be alphabetical by clan name.

Format = 5v5 best of 1's on missile assault titan for round 1. 5v5 best of 3’s on missile assault titan for round 2 and 3. In Round 1, there are no mech restrictions.
In round 2 and 3, the 2^nd game of each bo3 will be mech restricted. Specifically, Teams can have no more then 2 of each class. (for example, 3 A’s 1 B and 1 C would not be allowed).
There may be item restrictions (ex, no emps).

Prize = Bragging rights and a small donation (currently 90 dollars) to the winners charity of choice.
General issues- To prevent random people from joining servers interrupting games, a 6^th person will be on each team but only to take up space and sit in the back of the base. (this is optional, if you cannot get a person for this job then we can always just ask randoms to leave)
-In the event of players not showing up, teams are allowed to use however many subs they like. If they cannot provide subs then the empty spot can be filled with a ringer or wandering gun.
-EU teams will be required to play on US east unless they are facing another EU team.


Hopefully this will be a good way to kick start the Hawken competitive scene.
(If you wish to be a ringer/wandering gun for this event, please announce it in this thread to facilitate a team picking you up, however I cannot guarantee you will see action).
(If you are one of the clan leaders who are participating in this match I would also appreciate it if you posted in this thread. While the tournament will have a “start time” it will be incredibly helpful if clan leaders can coordinate with each other as far as what exact server they are going to play on.)
