I installed the game and launched it, everything seemed to work fine. I was able to login after launching, select the rocketeer mech (test drive), and watch the tutorial videos.

But when I try to find a match - no matter which type - it doesn't connect. It gets stuck on "Connecting / Please wait..." until ultimately saying "Connection Lost / Your connection to the host has been lost." I've tried deploying both mechs (the default one and the rocketeer) and both fail to find matches. I've also closed and re-opened the game and got the same result.

I created exceptions in my firewall for the game - in fact I created exceptions for every executable in the game folder just to be sure. If I watch my connections with Netlimiter 3, I see hawkengame-win32-shipping.exe starts out uploading and downloading data (200-700kB) after selecting to find a match. Then within 10 seconds it drops down to 0B download, 26B upload and stays there until I get the "Connection Lost" message. The download drops to 0 first, so it appears from watching Netlimiter that this is a server issue_ Maybe_ Is there a log anywhere I can check_

In case it helps troubleshoot, here are some specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (up-to-date on Windows updates)
i7 940 @3.47GHz
12GB RAM
BFG GeForce GTX285 (running the game on)
PNY GeForce 210 (other monitors)
Nvidia drivers: 301.42
Time Warner/RoadRunner 15Mbps down/5Mbps up
Time trying to play: Nov. 20, 2012 at 10:00pm Eastern Standard Time (Ohio)

Thanks in advance...

Edit: I'm now (10:17pm EST) getting the "Find Match Failed" message immediately after clicking the "Find Match" button. I searched the forum before posting... are there server issues at the moment_

Also I guess I should mention that I have not tested Hawken prior to this. There were no older versions that needed to be uninstalled prior to Closed Beta 3.

This "Support" is horrible. I'd love to help test this game, but not I (nor others) can even get help with the problems I'm having even finding a match to try it. You would think that bugs that prevent people from even playing the game would get at least some attention. I could deal with minor bugs and annoyances. I guess it's a good thing I haven't actually paid for this game.

Thanks for nothing.

I'm from Bulgaria.
Win 7 ultimate, i5 2500k, Radeon 6770, 4gb RAM
I believe I might be having problems with the ports you're using. I'd like to know which are they, so I know if it's me or you. Thanks in advance.

Port forwarding is not needed. If you have any software firewalls, proxy software disable it.

Nothing that I know of, but then again, I'm in a dorm, so I guess it's not something from me, but firewalled before it comes even to my computer...

Bingo. Security is usually pretty tight in those places.

Sound to me like a slow connection which makes sense since you are in a Dorm where everybody shares the same WiFi router...

If you're having problems connecting to a match, it's not going to be a hardware issue, it's going to be a configuration issue.

Though since we don't know what ports Hawken uses, the only way to check would be to at least temporarily DMZ and see what ports it's using via things like NetLimiter.

Also, people in dorms... well, you may be out of luck there if your college locks non-standard ports down. You'd probably have to request those to be opened, or else if you're doing it off Wifi, you need to get a wired connection of some sort.

Open These Ports to Run HAWKEN

The open ports necessary to run HAWKEN are dynamically allocated. This means HAWKEN uses a range of ports; from 7777 to 7797.

At minimum, opening ports 7777, 7787, and 7797 should enable you to run HAWKEN.

Standard UE3 ports, then.
