The old team didn't really keep up with their multiple language support, for example, I play the game in Japanese and there are some things not translated

Mechs: Incinerator (???????), G2 Mechs (Honestly just add G2 in front like the english ones)

The word Equipment for the Equipment customization menu (??)

Cockpit customizations

"Back (ESC)" (? (ESC) ) in the menus

 

and a few others.

 

One other issue I know with the Japanese version is the silos are labeled with their number up top on the HUD but not in front of you when you're looking at them, it's even worse with the energy stations with 1 and 2 not being labeled. Just simple numbers being added would be simple additions.

 

I don't know how it is for the other languages, but the main reason why I use the Japanese client is because it allows me to type in Japanese without it becoming all rectangle blocks.

I understand your concern. Therefore, for example, for the Russian language, I corrected independently localization. Russian players help me seek inaccuracies and typographical errors. There are a few things that I can not handle myself and I need the help of developers. A few phrases in a virtual training (when trained repair, acquaint with overheating) I'm not able to - there is no English version of the text.

 

In order to see the Japanese alphabet (when you play in the English version of the game), do the following:

 

1) Go to the folder localization: Steam\SteamApps\common\Hawken\HawkenGame\Localization\INT\
2) Open the file with notepad GFxUI.int, find the rows and replaces them with:

FontLib=HawkenFonts.fonts_JPN
NormalFont=Meiryo UI
NormalBoldFont=Meiryo UI
DecorativeFont=Meiryo UI

Save the changes (not change the file extension)

 

Then you will be able to successfully use the Japanese keyboard layout. Please check and let us know - if it helped.

There are other glitches in Japanese display as well (text not aligned with textbox, ghost texts). And tutorial has some untranslated parts too.
