So, after double-checking, I can say that grenades are the ONLY secondary weapon that disappear instantly after death. By this, I mean that if you shoot a grenade and you die, it disappears instantly and is not able to cause damage afterwards.
All other weapons (including the TOW, KLA, non-locked-on Hellfires, EOC, and Sabot) continue to exist and are able to cause damage after or upon death. The only exception to this is if a grenade touches a static object (bounces off a wall or floor), then it will continue to bounce, after you die, until a timer causes it to detonate. This is hardly fair, and only happens mostly by sheer fluke.
I strongly suggest that the next client update/patch needs to include this change by making the grenade continue to exist after death until the timer causes it to detonate, non-withstanding whether it touches a static object or not.
