Ok guys, looks like our Omega Division championship match will need to be played Thursday or Friday night.  Elite put me in charge of wrangling you guys.  B-Team prefers Friday.  I am fine with Friday as well.  Elite is fine with whatever we put together.

 

Please, please, please...  Show the fuzzy bunny up.  If we do not have enough people to play, we will have to forfeit the match.  Nobody wants this to happen.  I am going to find more ways to harass you guys between now and Friday. 

 

It would be pretty sad to only lose one round in our division (not a match, just one round) and then forfeit the championship and miss out on the Alpha playoffs where will most likely get to play against TANG again at some point.  (Which will be a really good match IMO).

 

I think we have played a very solid season, despite never really practicing or scrimming.  B-Team is ready for us, we can't take them for granted.  Lets rally for a brutal smackdown on Friday night.

it has come to my attention that one of our members has been accused of hacking (cheating) the hawkens and trolling the unofficially official hawken team speak.

 

i'm greatly saddened by this event, and hope dearly that this is a false report, or a case of mistaken identity...    but i also feel the need to strongly come down on this sort of behavior and promote an atmosphere of fair play in our clan.  this member (who i will not name) will be on temporary suspension from the clan until such time that _inci and i am adequately convinced one way or the other as to the veracity of the claims.  

 

so what does that mean? not much really...  they can't join thc teams in competitions, will not be allowed to attend team meetings (do we have those?) or in clan sponsored events (like war wednesdays).  further more, we will assist with the process of pushing this complaint up the ladder in order to secure an official ruling for ban / not ban.  

 

i urge this individual to contact me and voice their side of the story, i was not present for the alleged incident and have not as yet reviewed any evidence, only heard it third hand.  i am open to resolution of this matter and would prefer if we could prove your innocence than your guilt.

Hey fellas so I didn't know where to find that thread/convo again for the team that we got somewhere so I figured I'd post here.

I won't be playing in matches anymore for any league. I've played competitively before in other games and hawken doesn't come close to scratching that competitive feel I used to get. Granted I don't put any effort into practising or learning the game, it just doesn't interest me enough at the moment. Hell I just learned that some c-class has the SA Hawkins. I always wondered why this one c-class would always mess me up and I would make a poor judgement in engages with it in siege.

My attention to specifics is not enough to be on a team. I don't work to improve myself as a player (just get super baked and hope for the best). I feel like I'm never around for most matches. Often when I'm on the TeamSpeak I don't even know whose on our team lol. Playoffs started and I didn't realise until 2 weeks later I believe.

I will still be playing hawken from time to time after blazing but not on teams anymore. Maybe with some dev changes this coming year I'll look at the state of competitive hawken but I don't have much hope for the competitive side. I had the best time of my 600+ hours on hawken with THC though. I've never been a vocal player (even in matches, sorry I be jammin) but playin with you all has opened me up to the small but great community we have in hawken. I love all of you :)

No, you don't. At our level, specializing is a dangerous proposition, evidenced by me utterly shutting down every other team's sniper and doing a pretty good job on yours, when tickle wasn't around to claim the infil role. And as you proved, you are entirely capable of taking on your closest competition (B-Team) without needless specialization that opens you up to counters. You nearly had us on that Wreckage map, which would have been the end of it. And we very nearly had you on Facility, which is a very sniper-friendly map (though not so much as Bunker, for example). The reason it was so close in both cases wasn't because of NepR (though he was definitively the final word on Bunker) but because our teamwork, communication and flexibility was enough to overcome the blatantly evident individual skill gap between our two teams.

 

You work on those, and you're gonna be out of Omega, into Alpha, regardless of specific positions.

I'd still like to have a good sniper in our pocket. There are times when it is very comforting to be able to count on your SS. Teamwork and all that stuff is more important of course, which is why I'm going to push for actually practicing and playing together as a team on occasions other than actual TPG matches.

Matches were essentially the only time we had most of the team assembled, and it showed.

The only thing consistent between the winless TANG of S1 and TANG now is THETOEMASHER on sharpie. Like anything, specialization is only as useful as the work you put in.

There was also the use of psychedelics by multiple thc players during matches. I don't think that helped.

Yeah, Thursdays are the days I'd like to consistently schedule scrums and TPG matches. Tuesdays, we'll see how it goes. There's WW in the middle, that's a lot of back to back to back nights.
