Do more slots for items or internals open up and become available when you reach full rank?

You get 6 slots for each, and you fill them as quick as you can unlock the item tiers (which is instant if you don't mind paying).

Some claim that is Pay-2-Win, although in reality everything can be unlocked with grindable credits other than cosmetics.
Yes there are a couple of mechs currently only available in pay bundles, but I believe that is temporary and they will soontm be available with HC.
