IMO they should totally integrate with the "real" cockpit. Currently everything except Radar and damage indicators are on the cockpit, but stuff like "Low fuel" warnings will pop up over it. It would be great if they could keep everything consistently on the dashboard.

Rear view as many people said is a nice idea. There could be a computer screen below the MAIN GAMEPLAY SCREEN...
When you press the B button to check what's behind you... the man in the mech lowers his head and look at the monitor which shows back. Realistic, fast and maybe possible. to make.

Shift+S does a quick turn, I see no point in a rear view mirror if you can't see it all the time.

Have you played the game already_
If you say so and there are qucik turns then mirrors are propably useless. There is a radar (saw it at the gameplay yesterday) so you (I mean all players) can see if there is an enemy behind us. But the idea to make a few camera views just to watch your mech is not that bad. Not much benefits but if you work hard at your customization you want to saw your mech after all.

I like the idea of adding camera view, in fact it would work very well in Unreal engine because it is not very taxing to add new renderers. However it doesn't make sense to have to press a button to see them. I can post a video of the shift-s if you want.

If it's possible you can post all your vids with everything you got there. :) At youtube there are only few old movies which are insufficient.

I think a rear view mirror would be a little unrealistic. Personally i dont want glass in the back of my mech for a mirror to work. Plus makes you rely on radar that little bit more.

I think it is a good idea, but visually where would you put the video feed or mirror on the HUD_ I feel like there isn't enough room to implement something like that. And if you size it down, it would just be useless.

I vote for yes with the option to remove it because that would really bog down on some peoples video performances.

Um, YES.

I think that would be a unique attribute for a FPS in general...moreover, it makes sense; jets and planes use them, and it saves them.

Even if it ain't mandatory, it would be a great option/feature to throw into a customizable cockpit.

I think maybe a mirror/camera system that you can activate by holding a key. A video feed from this camera would pop up and obscure 1/2 -2/3 of your mech's visor so players can't run around while holding the rear view key at the same time.

Playing it now and the new rapid-180 degree turn with Shift (DASH) + S (BACK) works really well. You have hit indicators when you get hit from behind, I don't want a mirror. You want to have the ability to creep up on others too.

I am testing MechWarror Online as well and that hud is waaaaayyyy too full. Sorry, I don't want it myself.

well you have the map and with the shift+S you seem to be able to keep on your toes enoug, isnt the point of some of the classes to get behide your enemy.

I would enjoy it, but I think it would be good as an add-on or perk that is activated with a key.

To put it simple as it has been said before , what is the point of a rear view mirror when you have radar_ beside "looking cool" lol and a few other things i won't say until later (maybe) lol.

I say No because I like the idea that if someone is cunning enough to get behind you and avoid your radar they should be rewarded.

makes no sense, you have no rear window so it would have to be out side of the cockpit for you be able to see behind you. It wont look right. Your driving a mechanized machine of death not an semi-truck (they sort of are too I suppose).

I think the mirror could go hand in hand quite well with the 180 turn mechanic, but I'm not sure. I'd love for it to be a feature so we can test it out, and be taken out if people hate it.

Because it's a mech game, people who aren't used to mech games and instead are used to military shooters (including myself) are underutilizing the 180 turn mechanic. Once they (again, including myself) start realizing this is a completely different type of mobility, I think it'll become more natural. I wonder if the mirror will make it more natural or just become a difficult feature to use.
