patch isn't out yet. it is currently about 10:30 PST, and judging by past experience, the patch will either drop at noon PST or 2 PST. so about 1.5-3.5 hours from this post. That is purely a guess, however. Scapes said in a different thread that we should expect a notification at the top of the screen shortly telling when the servers should go down to apply the patch.

A new patch that addresses 90% of my issues with the game and a new mech that speaks right to my soul... and my power supply blows up... FUZZY BUNNY!!!!!

We have an addendum to the patch notes:
  • The Facility map will not be available initially when this patch hits while we perform some server wrangling on our end. It will be introduced before too long and we will provide updates on its status.
  • The Asia server regions have been merged into the Oceania server region.
  • The server browser will show populated servers and one empty server for each game mode.

Any word on Alpha/Beta camos_ (sorry to start bringing it up again :-/ just curious last we heard about it was from Hugs back in Community Bat Signal Response #2)

It's listed as 4/6 in game but it depends on the mode the weapon is in.  If you shoot it using the lobby grenade you can get some good range but the airburst mode is very short (I would list the airburst by itself as 1/6).

The Raider's primary weapons are very close range as well.

Think this was answered earlier in the thread. Long/short: the camos are done but the distribution method is not. We'll be teasing the camos (this week if there's time) and proving updates on where we're at with distributing them. This one's very top-of-mind for me!

I don't like weapon nerfs. This patch promotes too much an a-class mechs. Reduce of explosives radius makes, that fast movers can jump around you more freely then previously. REV+HEAT nerf made Grenadier now very hard to play mech. And still i don;t see nerf for SS armour.

I've not found anything really bad about the patch beyond some minor concerns voiced already by the Steel Killers, and the issue with the Sharpshooters not being handled in the patch, which i expect will be dealt with shortly (or at least, i hope so).

I do have a question for the Graphic designers though : is the Muller cockpit a conscious nod to Metal Gear REX, or is it a happy coincidence that it looks a LOT like it _

One of the things i remember most about the CS Beta days was the constant balancing act. The effort that went into balancing everything possible is what made that, and is what's making this, great games!
That said I do hope I don't have to remap all my keys again....
