Welcome to the Fight Club Tournament!

Saturday March 9th for the 1v1s and Sunday March 10th for the 2v2s.

Both days the fights start at

1 p.m. PST / 4 p.m. EST  

We've had a lot of people sign up for this, and we're excited to be bringing you the latest in competitive blood sport!

I am your host Saturnine, and this will be awesome.

Due to the number of participants, and my poor planning skills, the participants have been split into three groups of sixteen players. The top players in each bracket will face each other round robin style in the final round, and the person with the most kills by the end of it is the winner. Ties will be settled with a rematch.

So, here's the brackets for 1v1.

Rules

HEAT cannon is not allowed on any mech.

Raider will not be allowed either for the sake of my sanity.

No Countermeasures.

No Power Shot use. (Easy way to avoid it - bind the ability key to something ridiculous and out of the way, or unbind it!)

All fights prior to the semi finals will be determined by who is first to five kills. In other words the fights will be a best of nine.

Bracket 1 will be hosted and streamed by me on the BSB Twitch Stream.

Bracket 2 will be hosted and streamed by The CockPit on their stream.

Bracket 3 will be hosted and streamed by RentaKnight on his stream.

There will be some other streams from participants in the fights, as well, if you are interested. I'll be streaming and of the fights I'm in, RentaKnight will be streaming his fights, I believe, and Xacius will be streaming as well. If you want to add your stream to this list, let me know!

The arena will be this area of bazaar - check it out, practice on it, make sure you know the boundaries. Those who leave the boundaries will be warned the first time, disqualified the second, within reasonable cause.

The one who takes first in the 1v1s, and the team that takes first in the 2v2s will get some Hawken decals sent to them!

Further prize details still to be announced - I'll let you all know as soon as possible!

All 1st place winners will receive 3780 MC!

All 2nd place winners will receive 1483 MC!

All 3rd place winners will receive 720 MC!

A thought, are all streams going to be on the same delay_ It'd be cool if I could have all 3 streams running side by side in sync.

It's subject to change until the tourny starts. People kept on changing things around and give very limited information so it can be more confusing trying to sort everyone information out between the thread and multiple PM's. If your information is wrong just PM me and I will fix it before the tourny.

Turns out that image isn't quite perfect for how it was working in practice, lemme go make a terrible paint edit to show the true boundary we'll use, hang on..

The red lines will mark how it should work out in practice. The red line near the low spawn at the top of the image is so sharpshooters don't go hide in that corner and force huge lines of sight on other participants, leaving no recourse but to rush through no cover. These boundaries aren't super hard - judges don't have to force perfection within these boundaries, it's at the judges discretion. However I don't think that under normal play these boundaries will be pushed very much anyway, but we'll see. Don't be too harsh, but don't let people go overboard for that.

Other judging stuff: Pay attention in sharpshooter fights for power shot usage - I know it can be instinctual to some of those players, so just have them use the ability just before the fight begins, or have them unbind the key prior to the fight if they think it may be a problem. If you hear the ability activation noise and/or a far larger than should happen chunk of health pops off the other competitor, have the fight restart with a warning to the power shot user. Second offense is at your discretion, but a third should be a disqualification with the competitor moving on. Make sure they stick to their mech too - if they didn't specify a mech prior to the tournament, the first mech that shows up is the mech they are using, and if they switch make sure they go back to their chosen mech.

Edit: Also, if an offending player is belligerent and can't be reasoned with.. Well, Fight Club has a lot of experience with such players, and I think many of you know how such belligerence tends to be dealt with.
