Coming June 18, the Heatsink Update is a balance patch that delivers a significant reduction in the heat generation of almost all of the weapons in HAWKEN in addition to some damage, rate of fire, and range adjustments.

Designer's Note

With the addition of the Technician and flat increase to all mech armor, overheating became too common and often frustrating. We want battles to last slightly longer and to contain more actual fighting, not downtime from overheating. The changes in this balance update also allow for sustain weapons to spam fire a bit more without as much concern about overheating.

Decreased self-repair rate by 25%.

Since the Corsair-MIRV isn't on this list, I assume it's heat generation wasn't adjusted_

That's a mode of the Corsair-KLA. Both modes were affected.

My Grenadier just keeps getting better and better! Am glad to have the Helix Repair Torch balanced, though, so good job on that.

I like most the other changes by why did the Slug Rifle need a boost in ROF_ Seems like the Reaper and Sharp Shooter are going to be a problem again with this. It's already annoying enough dealing with the range but at least with the slow reload time at least made it possible to respond before you got slammed again. Not sure how this will play out in-game but I don't think it will have a positive impact.

Looks like there will be even more level 25 Scouts running around at higher levels of play now. Guess I need to get good with the Heat Cannon again.

Overall though really good patch and something that has been needed for awhile. I just hope what I pointed out above won't end up being the only weapons you see at higher levels of play.

I like this. I like it a lot. Still, the SA Hawkins will remain the worst weapon in the game. Seriously, guys, that weapon is terrible.

I can't wait to play tonight and see how much fun the HEAT is going to be. And here I thought learning to use it lately was just a way to kill time.. Now it looks like that time was well spent indeed-y! This is going to be great. Anyone wanna buy 4 heavily used Heatsink Internals_

I would of rather seen a reduction in burst damage rather than an increase in sustained damage, over all adjustment look decent BAR the Vulcan, it didn't need less heat or more damage it just needed to lose accuracy at a slower rate.
Remove the randomness not increase it.

If the weapon damage keeps going up then the adjustments for a higher TTK will all be for nothing.
No C-Class balancing as yet D:

Keep them. You only get a 1.5 reduction > 18.5 instead of 20 heat gen if my math is correct.
