As far as I know, the patch won't bomb. It contains features that players have been asking for generations, including team matchmaking. This allows for a clan scene to develop to its fullest, rather than have BSB and a few other, smaller clans floating around.
So I will stand here with my shoulders square and tall,                                     Oh god...
and when the whistle blows, I'll falter,                                                                Oh god!
but when the crash comes I will fall.                                                                   Here comes the arm.
With so much steam and steel behind it,
I won't slow it down at all.

Eh...that game just looks like CoD with mechs and futuristic-y weapons. I'll stick with other unique FPS's, thank you very much.

TItanfall looks amazing. Of course it's going to look a bit like CoD... it's f'ing the old Infinity Ward. Top game of E3 IMO though. Hawken will do fine though, this patch should be amazing. But thinking that game like Payday 2 will even be close to what Titanfall will be_ Shiii

Everything I've seen about Titanfall indicates it will just be CoD with bit of jetpack parkour where you occasionally hop in a mech and play robo-CoD with dashing.

And with how amazing the Payday 2 beta is turning out to be, it'll be ridiculously awesome on release. That game knows how to create a great challenge that depends on coordination and teamwork.

I have complete faith in the devs, and would stick around through thick and thin just to make sure this game is perfect.

Hey, I already own Payday 2 (not the CCE version sadly) and think it will be great, but full out PVP (Titanfall has no single player), In and out of mech combat, parkour  movement, being able to yank pilots out of their mech and throw them_ I don't see how any Hawken player is not pretty interested. And let's look back... The reason MW2 was fuzzy bunny was Activision/Bobby Kotick. I guarantee that Respawn is going to make of for the slop that was MW2. I think Payday 2 will be great fun, but it's a co-op game. Titanfall was the game of the show at E3 IMHO. There were some others that looked close, like The Division, but fuzzy bunny Ubisoft and them making PC gamers BEG like dogs for the game.

But as for Hawken, I think this patch is going to be amazing. It has me very excited and, to be quite honest, after leveling up 10 mech to 25, I was/am pretty burned out and feel this will breathe new life. Once they get it all polished up, maybe they'll take it to Steam and bring in a lot more players.

We have to find bugs, decide if somthing is fuzzy bunny or not, and walk into the same wall 12,000 times to try and find terrain bugs. If you guys got somthing you didn't want because nobody listened to the people who were asked to speak up, then you would just blame HAB testers for that. If you want to play something that has major problems, be my guest. But be warned, you may not always like what you wish for.

The HAB is a big mistake for me, 80% of you guys don't know fuzzy bunny about game mechanics,  your just a mob of arrogant forum warriors who never misses the opportunity to say how good it is to be in BSB(for example) and etc. They need professional game testers, objective, competent and without any personal interest.
How many of you guys did really test the game before the HAB_ How many of you know how unbalanced automatic weapons are, that vulcan has the same amount of point-blank damage as the submachine and it makes vulcan totally useless, that the assault rifle at 20m distances completely dominates the submachine and it is the only viable automatic weapon, etc...

But thank you for your effort and time, I hope it wont be meaningless.

I would like to point out that quite a few of us in the HAB have been testing games for a long time. Some of us do develop games and help in the development of games. Most of us have been testing this game since it was in alpha. Chances are the next wave of testers will be introduced soon.

On topic I will be here until the end and don't really have anything else to play for a while.

it seems to me that most of the nay-sayers have it in thier heads that the patch has already "bombed" before it's even dropped.

there will always be something to whine about and claim is 'game-breaking' and driving people away.  the fact is that it's impossible to please everyone and the most vocal people are the unpleased.

and even if this patch doesn't deliver for you, there will be another patch after that, and another , and another...

Glad to hear that a few had experience in testing, and I hope when you say "testing since alpha"  you mean testing since alpha not playing since alpha.

I develop and test...my number one gripe is falling through solid meshes..e.x. BSP errors (holes), and hanging up on static meshes, and yes walking the length of every inch of geometry and then some is boring and takes time but it is a most critical function of testers to make sure that at least the level functions as it should. As far as coding I stay far away from it as possible, I prefer a much more visual Canvas. Testers are some of the lowest paid (or freelance), hated, and under appreciated members of the gaming community. All good things in due time, no sense wasting energy complaining about not being in HAB...

NOW to contribute more meaningfully (than above) to this topic of discussion, a link below for your viewing pleasure...This is for everyone who actually gives a ^%$# about testing.

I agree with how pompous some clans and users present themselves.

In an ideal world I feel it would be best to just allow anyone into the test server. If anyone could join HAB you would mostly get players that would want to improve Hawken. I'm sure there are some good testers in the current HAB, but I'm fearful that some may be steering the game further down the tech path.

Good to see, that no matter how much technology and games advance, the minds of players always stay the same.
Same stories since ... when did this HalfLife mod called "Counter Strike" become popular_
Everybody trying to define and acknowledge himself over being "someone special" or having some "special opinion" or just attacking others for trying to do so, all around some oh so important game/community/whatever.

If the patch bombs or the HAB are all ignorant a-holes or Adhesive is just trying to steal your money or .... does it really matter_
Use the game to have a good time. Doesnt work_ Do something else, instead of wasting your life on boring matches, stupid comments and useless values. You will never get that time back. Make it count.

Try this for a start:
Everytime you want to write someone how stupid he is,
play a match and cover a repairing teammate.

Everytime you want to rant over the broken mechanics,
leave the sharpshooter etc. at home and have some fun instead.

Everytime you think the HAB are egoistic fuzzy bunnies,
follow a call for support from your team and help that guy.

Everytime you want to complain about the matchmaking,
switch to the loosing team and make them win.

Everytime you wanna brag about your skills and achievements,
play a match without dodge-blocking your teammates killshots once.

If you really enjoy the time, who cares if it bombs, goes EA-Style or will be the best game ever_
Still no fun for you_ Maybe try some different area. Cure for cancer, P=NP_, world peace ...

Adhesive is still in charge. HAB testers can suggest things until they are blue in the face but that doesn't mean Adhesive is going to even consider them, they'll do what they want to do.

Nah. Games are getting worse and worse(Especially the mainstream ones). And gamers all still attracted to them. Late 90's and early 2000's were a good time for gamers and video games in general. That is when you got games that were quite challenging and very close to the term of "art". (Like Gothic, Sacrifice, Kotor). I wonder how games would look if they came out the time the first movies came out. When quality was put over quantity. Funny enough when the first movies came out they were not considered art whatsoever. Too bad video games came out in an erra of commercialism (IN MASS)

LOL, you are a little quick to pass judgement, EA is super-paranoid about making sure that this game is not misconstrued in any way, shape or form as CoD due to Activision's frothing-at-the-mouth lawsuits over losing the original CoD key developers and their most talented.

that's nice, except anyone who has actually seen footage and done research can still tell the game plays exactly like call of duty, just with jetpacks and mechs, and killzone asthetics thrown in.

consumers are so easy to fool. gullible and tasteless, just like ea wants you.
