Hydro Update

The main turbine hall and access hallways through the mountains are compete. The level is approx 75% complete and the finer details of the level will start to come into focus here shortly. I'm going to have to trick the geometry to achieve the size effect. The buildings would appear overly massive to a human sized player, i'm keeping this in mind as I decorate the level and enhance the structures. Notice the new addition to the hillside outside of the substation.

I'm gonna go ahead and just finish Hydro so I can move onto other maps. Got some pics of the turbine hall. These are the hallways that pierce through the mountain. Allowing players to reach each base a bit faster, but this will be hotly contested ground. For example in a CTF environment. In a Missile Assault mode, each base will have an AA, and one will be placed near the central pump station at the bend. Its a triangle configuration of sorts between those three points with multiple paths to each objective.

So what i'm gonna do next here since I have produced a majority of the final blocking. Is to go over the level and really decorate the place with more static meshes, lighting tweaks will take place really soon after that is done. Still working on the clouds for the sky box.

So I guess there is no point in finishing Ski Village, since there is an officially sanctioned snow map in the works. I don't know the details yet, but I'll assume by the news update that it has standing snow on the ground, and it is possible that it also features a snow storm or some sort of other inclimate weather conditions.

Perhaps I'll finish mine in competitive spirit_

Just finish it.  I expect the snow map, the Operation Frostburn Pt. 2, to be a winterized Last Eco that will probably only run during the winter, then revert back to normal.  I doubt it's permanent, so just finish! :)
