I'm wondering if the infrared is actually part of this mechs ability.
In the vid the ability isn't on cooldown.

Some has.
The powershot has a really small time frame.
And every ability is visible now except for the the current Infiltrator cloak which stop if you fire.
I do not know what weapons will be on the Predator so there is no need to talk about balance now.

Well, we all know the chassis name is Patrick, but considering the title of the thread, unless there is a reference I am missing, I wonder if they've changed the name to just be Pat now. /shrug

Maybe this is the first mech with 2 abilities just like the Raider was the
first mech with 2 fire modes on the Corsair-KLA

Rick is a nickname for Patrick, but aside from that, I am unaware of any other references they could be referring to.

Some theories: Perhaps "The Death of Rick" is referring to a pilot that went rogue (the Predator mech). Or maybe its a play off of Halloween and supposed to be a bit spooky and mysterious, like Rick is now some sort of vengeful ghost mech.

All in all though, I love the video. It's clearly paying homage to Predator, and the radio chatter is fitting. I especially love the "WTH" reaction. Maybe it's just me, but it almost looked like you could see a partial reflection of a pilot's face frantically looking around during the visual blackouts (then again, I also noticed that you can just barely make out where the affected mech is looking, so I might be mistaking that for a face).

Anyone think that perhaps Rick was the pilot of the Vanguard_ Two pilots died in the making of this video. It seems rather likely that one of their names could have been Rick.

I considered that, but for some reason (probably for the mystery) they only put Recruit 8 and Pilot 5 as the names of the pilots.

But I guess it would have been too obvious had one of them been named Rick, huh_

i fully suport this this new mech. as i recall, this was sapposed to be released with the assencion patch but ended up being to OP. so hopefully they got this thing nailed down.
