I don't blame you about your fight. I also have my fight. I use steam only for cheap priced games. I never buy full price $60 games on steam. Every game will get ridicoulusly pricecut/discount on steam anyway, so i'll just wait the right time to buy it. I dont care about IP being cheapened. I would infact wanted every game is cheap, since they dont care either about games ownership anymore, why would i care to buy their game expensively_ I just dont mind if their game had some sort of DRM, as long as convenient, non-intrusive, non-performance-eater, and benefiting us. steam has these.

about hawken doesn't offer non-steam version, maybe they want to use steam-features natively, so creating their own feature would be too overwhelm for their to manage. that's how i see it.

I think it would be a great idea if they offered access to the game with both the non-steam launcher/access and steam access. This could serve to increase the number of players and not leave anyone out.

I do understand the business need to reach a wider audience and I am fine with that, as it is a good business move. However, the move will also lose some members in the process. Like many others, I just don't like steam and don't want to be forced to use it to play games I like.

While I am hopeful they can accommodate the idea of dual game launchers; I think I'll just have to sit this one out for now.

so, after being unable to use my comp for a while, i come back to hawken and find this nonsense......why anyone would have ever thought this was even a somewhat mediocre idea is beyond me. steam as an option is fine, but now i have to completely redownload the whole thing_ i have been a big advocate of this game from the outset, but...frankly this leaves a really, really awful taste in the mouth....i'll see you guys again at some point, i'm sure, just don't really care when right now.

Me and three friends were going to come back after realizing MWO and PGI are not worth investing in only to see what is a deal breaker for many of us.

If you FORCE the use of Steam you lost us three for good.
