I WANT THE OLD HAWKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my game to satisfy the need for a fast mech game that also had some potential for duels in the battlefield and the ability to back off and retreat or pursue an enemy at risk. The changes for low health have royally broken this aspect of the game for me, as every mech dies far too quickly now. There's no struggle between the parties in combat. I understand the dev's opinion to make one on one fights shorter in order to give players a chance to have their dancing partners attention solo, but now it's just ridiculous. There is no strategy for backing off now, it's either kill or die within a few seconds of meeting the opponent, no ticking away at health and managing your own health and skill versus the enemies. If you encounter two enemies at once now there's no chance to escape, it's instant death. I don't mind a fast game or fast gameplay, this game has always been that. However, I no longer feel like I'm piloting a war machine (typically of scrapped together materials at that) so much as being in stompy heavily armed armor suit and dying within one or two shots like any other shooter. I want to have that health pool back, so I can react to threats that I don't immediately see in front of me and potentially handle that by defending myself or escaping without being instagibbed. I don't feel like there's any more or less cooperation between teams since the change, and genuinely feel as though this was a very, very wrong step to the game for me.
Secondly, while the new HUD has grown on me quite a bit, I do miss having all of the integrated visuals into the cockpit of armor count, fuel and the abilities. I know that this has been a dead topic for a while, with people occasionally voicing that it was better looking back then, but I still feel that immersion was lost when it just got turned into bright bars in the middle of the screen rather than gauges and dials embedded in the cockpit. I would really love to see a throwback of some sort to the immersion created by such a deeply designed visual theme. It was dominant. It was a very large feature to me, that drew me into the game in a way that sucked away hours.
TL;DR: Health too low, immersion seems to be lacking.
As for the other changes of late to timed boosting based on mech class, removal of mech skill trees, I don't mind the changes. I'm typically fond of a game who's features reach deep into the realm of complication, but these changes didn't affect how the game felt too much compared to the other two big changes I mentioned above.
Devs, I genuinely hope that this makes it to your ears, as I was once deeply in love with this game and now am hesitant to spend more than a match or two before getting either too angry or disheartened by the game play to continue in lieu of how it felt to play a while ago. I still have hopes that the game's kinks will be worked and it will be enjoyable to spend hours at a time again, but I'm very much on the fence of supporting further than I already have and don't feel the drive to play it frequently due to the above issues. Thanks for giving me hours of enjoyment in either case and have a wonderful day in continuance of whichever date this might be read.

The Devs should put up a few servers running the Hawken build from somewhere around CB3, or the beginning of open Beta. That way, everyone could experience the joys of the three second overheat Vulcan Deathray, useless two volley Hellfires, laser accurate sniper AR, Mini-Nuke TOWs, Massively OP Miniflak, And the even more useless iteration of turret mode than what we have now. And of course one of the best parts of the game back then: STUNLOCKING!!!
Then, after a month or two, we can see whether people like that version of the game more than now.

They oughta roll all the way back to an alpha build so players can see that the game never looked or sounded like the prototype trailers.

Why is this thread still going anyway..
Something as thin as an A class isn't supposed to be able to stand 5-6 rockets before going down. >_>

Because people like you keep reviving it.
About that lowered TTK_
It's not changing back to the higher TTK, you might as well just stop whining.
It's of no use.

He's basicly saying that they aren't making the game that they USED to want, but the game they want NOW.
Basicly, their ideas of how they want the game changed.
Simple.
About all the whiners:
Nothing to see here, move on.
Just your usual sh_theads whining.

Such a great poll you got there.
Many informations, so WOW.
No the old HUD will not be returning anytime soon.
The new faster movement is amazing for fast-paced action.
The current health for the mechs is fine.
All in all the current balance for Hawken is really good at the moment. Old Hawken_ Wait a few months and you might just be calling the current build "Old".
Hawken is still really a unique game and nothing like Ive ever played. I think some of us that see Hawken as a game thats not, you need a reality check. I myself have been bouncing between Hawken and BF3 for a few days, and I gotta say playing Hawken is way harder and more rewarding. I'm sure the older game looks good even back than, but there were just to meany cons over the pros back then.
I just like many here are kind tired of seeing these "OLD HAWKEN WAS BETTER NUHHH" threads. Hey glad you care, but look, Hawken is a amazing game, sure there's bugs, and some imbalances, but at the end of the day, its still a beta, its subject to change. I for one love the current Hawken and look forward to whatever the devs toss at us.

Hahahahaha. Well put.
I could do with the old armor stats, and SOME of the old setup, but trade what we have now for this:
Sorry. I just couldn't keep a straight face in court for that question.
