Instead of discussing a ban on .ini file FoV mods, why don't we just strongly encourage them and post in this thread a detailed instruction set on how to accomplish it_ The idea is to put as many players on as close to even footing as we can, right_

On the other hand a 120 fov has been a competitve league first person shooter standard   since I began playing online shooters when Clinton held office.
And when he walked uphill to AND from school.

Why not just do what I suggested_ If we have to take a screenshot at the start of the match why not have mechs damage themselves so they have to enter repair mode and take the screen shot then_

I need a team to join and Xacius isn't acknowledging me, so I'm gonna keep posting the sad kitty eyes gif until he does.  (J/k, Xacius)

Anywho, if anyone's looking for a good Incinerator, Raider, or Bruiser player I'm open for invitations.

The participants can weigh in regarding the restrictions with the camera FOV.  During the pre-seasons, the admins will decide how to handle it.  We'll be gathering again in about a week to discuss possible issues.

Best option regarding FOV:

Since you really can't enforce it, unless everyone is streaming and everyone has a judge watching their stream, the best option is to inform all players how to enable increased FOV.

No doubt, increased FOV while repairing is an enormous advantage. If everyone is told how to do it, then people can only blame themselves if they die as a result of not doing it.

Edit:  oh five beat me to it lol

I don't love the modification either - in fact, I don't even use it (mostly out of sheer laziness).  As has been pointed out, though, it'll be difficult/a massive pain in the ass to regulate.

Guys, you're forgetting about the mech emote. You can just park at a corner, activate emote and look around the corner..

Where are the European clans in this_
Not enough interest in a Hawken league_

Let's see who is the best in Europe gentlemen !

And after the both leagues come to an end, the winner from USA can play against
the European winners in a final game, for the supercup !
Could be exiting.

As I said, enforcing it as it currently stands would be nearly impossible and would need HWK's part. I just don't like how it makes things too safe for those repairing or using other modes of 3rd person view. Of course you can educate everyone on it, but it still brings a bad taste to my mouth.

I'm not in the league as it is currently (unless i end up wanting to join a team) but it won't be the end of the world with the FOV edits. Just annoying and makes gameplay overall more boring :/...

In Japan with Street Fighter II they soft banned Akuma and Old Sagat.  This means that it's legal to play them but you are looked down on in the community if you do.  Also you are made fun of if you play them and lose.  Hopefully we can agree that this edit is dumb and no one should use it, period.  Some people will, but we can't police everyone.

I hear they give you dirtier looks if you play claw than O Sagat. Also I'm sure Akuma is completely banned even over there. People give you really nasty looks with OSagat and Claw though.

If you're looking for a team or to get organized I'd welcome anyone to the vR Teamspeak. We currently have a lot of good users who haven't formed teams yet. If you need to contact me just send me a message on here or enjin. The more people that want to organize the more space and time I can make for TPG. Just let me know! Click the link in my sig you can launch TS from there.
