Ok I´m a newbie so maybe this is a stupid question,but..what exactly would be the benefit of having HAWKEN run on Steam_
Can´t it just run on the way it does now_Explain me..please.

Btw. with what I know about Steam so far-which obviously can´t be very much- I ´d DEFINITELY NOT want to run HAWKEN on fuzzy bunny Steam.

If Hawken went with steam their publicity would spike and get a hell of a lot more players though steam would take a cut of the sales.

I personaly don't care for steam because it takes money out of the pockets of those that created the game. Before you go and tell me that steam brings more players and makes them more money hear me out.

If the game is good, it will make it's own name for it's self. It might take a little longer but in the long run the makers keep more money.

It's sort of like having self check out stands in stores, it takes away a person that could have a job.
I left steam long ago because I did not want to buy a game from them. Because if there is ever a issue steam gives you the run around.
These are just my own thoughts.
I hope that if you decide to turn it over to steam that those of us here who already have the game will be able to have it for free for being loyal to you and supporting you this far. Because I for one will not pay for this game through steam.

I've had the same issue. I really would like to see the influx of players. and Friends ask me about it but because they don't see it as part of "Steam" they won't join.

They think Hawken has no stability that a well established name like Steam provides. Also my friends havementioned they already have account info on Steam so purchases are easy and they feel leery of others having that info especially since they feel Hawken isn't established enough yet {re: household name}.

Arma 2 is on steam now and guess what_ now we have trolls and cheaters and little fuzzy bunny squeeker kids everywhere. Is this what you guys want for hawken__ Steam is nothing but a big old barrel of trolls/cheaters and dumb COD nubz who try to make every game they play into COD. And this is happening to Hawken as we speak. I played arma 2 for over a year loved it!! Steam came along and i and 100's others we forced to quit simply put you could not join any game with out atleast 5 or more cheaters in EVERY game.

This a BAD idea but as usual no one will listen to reason and you ALL will have to live with hawken on steam and the 20 or more problems that come with it. So make your bed and lay in it cuz no matter how much i warn against it they probly will not listen cuz after all its about how much money they can make in the end and the end use be damed sigh!!

But the whole plan is for it to be free to start playing, isn't it_ That's why there is a cash store. I don't think Steam would change that what with all the FTP games that are already on there.

That's a result of getting publicity and not being totally obscure any more. Don't be silly.

Hawken was originally designed for console. Something happened and we got it adapted for PC. Lucky us!

Firstly, are you honestly implying ArmA 2 wouldn't have gained a mass of trolls, children and hackers on it's own_ Once DayZ became a hit, ArmA 2 blew up and it would have done so weather on steam or not. In case you weren't aware, ArmA 2 was on Steam for years before it became big, it was just a nitch game. If you want to blame anyone for it's sudden popularity, blame DayZ

Additionally, I'm detest trolls/hackers and "cheaters", but Steam is one of my favorite platforms. It's one of the things that moved me from console gaming to PC gaming. I also hate every COD game after MW2, and even that one is "meh" tier. (I'm a Battlefield man, personally.)

Honestly, Hawken will go the way it's bound to go. I learned about it by chance via Youtube, if I hadn't, I'd be one happy guy when it popped up on Steam and I found myself a new Mech based game. Yeah, maybe some younger kids will join, but it's just as likely that long-time mech lovers like myself will see it too and join, because let's be honest, there's A LOT of Steam users. All in all, the Devs are going to do what they feel is best for the game, and if they decide Steam is a good idea, fantastic. If they decide it isn't, I won't stop playing just because of that.

I want to play this game, last mech game I played was chromehounds and I was obsessed with it. I remember the good ol days of mechwarrior 2 ghost bears legacy. But the main thing preventing me from playing is it isn't on steam. So hopefully they add it soon.

I use it through Steam as an added non-Steam game; but alot of my friends won't download it becaue Hawken does not have complete Steam integration.

Steam carries a certain validity and credebility to it. Hawken is not established enough for that same repertoire at this time.

All the more reason to increase availability through Steam!

I think Hawken should be on Steam... eventually. Not quite yet though.

Hawken's still in beta and getting all of the necessary tweaks it needs to be exposed to a larger audience. Right now there's more than enough game to go around. After more features, maps, mechs and other options are released, then it'll make sense to expose it to the Steam audience.

Despite what many anti-Steam voters seem to think, Meteor/Adhesive would get a nice financial bump from releasing a fully ready Hawken on Steam. Sure, Steam takes its cut, but don't forget that it's a cut of an exponentially larger base (54 million active users is nothing to sneeze at). In terms of polluting the base, I've already had my fill of racial slurs and whiners in the current open beta player base, so I doubt introducing a wider base would wrought as much havoc as naysayers are predicting.
