both GL and the Heat
already have that combo with Infil. prolly never happen on a B...what would be the point?
come to think of it, possibly same reason havent seen Flak Cannon + TOW on a B.
heh.

I could actually see this as opposed to the AM SAR.
It is miserable hell trying to coordinate a non-hitscan primary with a hitscan secondary that depends on zooming in. This exact combo is a confusing headache to play with.

what kind of secondary would this mech have? what kind of weapon would compliment the playstyle of the heat cannon?
lol hellfires and a heat cannon on a mech whose ability grants them a radar overlay similar to the predator, but with enough transparency to still view the playing field.... I dunno.
I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure

I think that it should be on the CTR-Recruit. It at least needs another weapon to differ from the Assault.
^This. 9000x this.
(If not heat cannon, then something else).

Heat cannon is a mid-range burst that shoot straight forward, aside from the TOW, the secondary that could match the same aim should be the Corsair.
A heat cannon raider ?

I really want the flak cannon or breacher on the raider instead of the EOC ;_;
Heat cannon wouldn't fit the Raider as it is designed to be weak long range and much stronger close range.
However I could see it working on Pred, but the Pred's primaries already work fine for it.

T32 doesn't - Heat Cannon Pred could be interesting though.

Just suggesting
I never played sharpshooter so I don't know what it needs but from the looks of it I think it could work?

SS gameplay requires both hitscan. The weird behavior of the heat wont work for him.
I played heat gren' this morning, I plainly sucked at it ... heat is a mid-range peek-a-boo and requires rather high turnrate and rather fast mech...

Rumor has it there was a concept with the Hon chassis that had both GL and the Heat. I'd like a similar design - obviously without the GL because we all know how terrible it is.
I could go for a G2 B class gren

Is that irony?

Heat raider is a beautiful thing, fyi. I'd replace reflak with that cuz fart on reflak and anyone who says otherwise is objectively wrong.

Was actually thinking about starting a topic about this myself. Heat is one of my favorite weapons and B classes have the best feel IMO. I think the combo would be really fun.

Raider and Predator, period!
Heat cannon wouldn't fit the Raider as it is designed to be weak long range and much stronger close range.
Wrong. That's like saying that the Scout shouldn't have a heat cannon because it's designed for close range, but if you combine a heat cannon with a TOW rocket that makes for a great mid range combo. Combining a Heat Cannon with a Corsair-KLA grenade would easily make the Raider viable at mid range. To be honest, I feel that putting the Heat Cannon on a Raider, instead of the EOC, would make it a middleweight Scout, if you consider the fact that the Raider is the fastest B mech in the game (I think, probably) and the nature of the Blitz ability.
Regarding the Predator having a Heat Cannon, As Meraple said, the T32-Bolt is up front and center broken on that mech. It bottlenecks it at both close and mid range. At close range, the T32's optimal range, you risk damaging yourself with your EOC Predator mines. At mid range, due to the spread and damage falloff of the T32, you have to rely on your EOC mines to do any damage. However, if you aren't good at leading your shots, you just won't be dealing substantial damage. Plus, EOC mines have no airburst function. Having the Heat Cannon as a secondary, in place of the T32, would change all this.

Heat would also fit this functionality pretty well but would still suffer from some of the same issues that EOC presents in air combat. I'm not really for changing weapons on existing mechs all that much though.
