TF2 was my first exposure to PC gaming, so it has a special place in my heart. Lately I've been rekindling a lost romance with Minecraft. CS:GO is always good for manic-depressive "FUZZ EVERYTHING-to-I'M AMAZING" thrill ride, especially with friends. Robocraft is another favorite. It's a lot like Legos, but you get to shoot them, and don't have to worry about stepping on them. Floating Points is a nice little hidden gem of a puzzle game. Insurgency is fun, especially if you have an affinity for realism in your shooters. Portal Stories: Mel is insanely good, rivaling the original in both story telling and brain scrambling.

Crypt of the Necrodancer, Risk of Rain, Heroes of the Storm, Teeworlds, Lufrausers, Phantasy Star Online 2 as my random pick-up-and-play games. Used to spend a lot of time on RoR but bored of it now, probably gonna try do an all artifect monsoon solo sniper speedrun before I call it quits on that game.
As to why? They are good games I suppose? CotND, RoR and Luftrausers are some of the best quick pick up and play indie games around for the last several years, all have great aesthetics, top notch pixel art and animation and fuzzy bunnyng rocking soundtracks. PSO2 is mostly just to fill my MMO void, Teeworlds I've been playing for 5-6 years? Picked it back up now it landed on Steam, and I used to play DOTA back in Warcraft 3 days, Heroes of the Storm is great for old men like me who want to play a MOBA but don't have time or energy for LoL/DOTA2.
Etrian Odyssey Untold (really need to finish this before EOU2 comes out, always been a fan of EO franchise but the new story mode actually made it rather boring and uncompelling for me to grind through), Grandia II (one of the best JRPGs around) and Ori and the Blind Forest (beautiful platformer) as fuzzy bunny-I-need-to-finish games.

GTA V because killing everyone is fun
Prison Architect because building a prison that is intentionally as fuzzy bunnyed up as possible for the prisoners is fun
Sims 3 because for some reason i find almost everything in that game hilarious.. and it's fun to torture sims and use them as test subjects to see how terrible i can make their lives
I have issues.. :c

"What other games than HAWKEN do you appreciate and like?"
Please let me bring up something from the history of computer games. (Although I don't play it now)
Another World (aka Out of This World) 1991- Delphine Software, created by ric Chahi.
homepage: http://www.anotherwo...other_world.htm
20th Anniversary Edition on Steam (reworked with HD gfx): http://store.steampo....com/app/233550
Because it was the first cinematic action game for PC and ric Chahi is a genius.
You can run the original version in DosBox.

I play League of Legends and a tiny bit of Warframe. Why League? Because of peer pressure that got me addicted to the game. And since I can't talk to anyone about Hawken because it's kinda on one of those subjects that no one talks about...
But seriously, it's been banned from conversations with my friends due to my awesomeness of bringing it up in everyday conversations.
It kinda went like this:
"Hey 'Dawn'!"
"HAWKEN!!!!!"
I wish I was kidding.

I knew it!
i love speed .
Also, games:
- Dungeon Siege 2 was my first PC game.
- The Elder Scrolls 3, 4 & 5. Before Hawken started swallowing all of my free time, these three did. I actually started my youtube channel to make Elder Scrolls Let's Plays ... well, now its Hawken.
- Valiant Hearts, because it punches you right in the feels!
- Dragon Age: Origins be like oh wow there really are actual roleplaying games out there. Not entirely sure how I feel about the romantic stuff. I tend to find this a bit odd in video games.
- The Curse of Monkey Island. Play it! It's hilarious!

I still play Pokemon and Fire Emblem intermittently because those are classics.
But the game I most appreciate besides Hawken is Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies. Amazingly fun, good graphics (for the time), a killer narrative. The story felt real. Plus it's one of the best military flight simulators ever in existence imo.

Online, besides HAEWRKENER, it's mostly TF2 and Guns of Icarus. If you haven't played GoI yet... It's pretty goofy, but a lot of fun to play with friends. Especially if you're hammered. If you like steampunk airship stuff, definitely try it out. I used to play QUAKE, but I haven't in years and I'm terribad at it now.
Other than that, I mostly play stuff like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Half-Life, Portal, blah, blah, blah. I have a soft spot for RTS games too. I play a lot of old school games still, TBH; Like, I still make a point to do a quick run-through of the original Super Mario every now and then, stuff like that. Back in the day I played Everquest before MMOs were cool.
If I had to pick a favorite game of alllllll time....... It'd probably be getting rreeaaaaaallllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy high with some friends, and then playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, with the game's music turned off and one of our own playlists playing.
I am also really good at chess, and I play Dungeons & Dragons once a week, and I used to be really into Warhammer/40K, and I like me some black and/or green Magic: The Gathering (Sometimes with a splash of red or blue; fuzzy bunny white tho), and I can settle Catan like a fuzzy bunny, and I live near an arcade where I can pay ~8$ to play a bunch of free pinball and other fuzzy bunny all day.

X-COM Enemy Unknown - Watch everyone you got feelings for die simulator. "That`s X-COM baby!"
Planetary Annihilation - With the excepton of it being a bug-infested hellhole it is pretty fun.
Dawn Of War/Dawn Of War II - It is Warhammer 40.000, what else do you expect from me?
Planetside 2 - Making Battlefield look small in comparison.
Minecraft - Boring in singleplayer, a lot better in multiplayer.
Red Alert/OpenRA - It is just a lot of fun.

That reminds me of the short time I was really into Roller Coaster Tycoon. I built a theme park where the only way in was a choo-choo train. The park itself was just a bare patch of earth with no other attractions or amenities or food, and tons of security guards & 1 guy in a fuzzy animal mascot costume. Pretty quickly the area was covered in fuzzy bunny and vomit.
The only way out of the park was one of those drop tower rides, except it went in reverse (i.e. up), and with such speed and velocity that the seats (And passengers) would instantly fly off the tower and crash into a nearby lake, killing all on board.
Repair the ride, and repeat.

About to be playing Otherland. The closed betas were all sorts of buggy, but it's going into early access in a couple hours and I'ma buy in. No idea how the game will be, but the books were fantabulous.
Love myself some Elite Dangerous too. It feels way too lonely and impersonal now, but CQC is coming soon, so there will be structured pvp and a closer sense of community with that. Planetary landings coming at year's end as well, which looks great even if it's on lifeless worlds to start with. Lots of potential for a game I already enjoy immensely.
Elder Scrolls Online a bit too, though not as much as I used to because it's very time consuming and my life is getting fuller. Not enough time for the rest of life and all dem games.
Smite can be lots of fun to jump into for a bit as long as the other players are cool. That's a situation that seems to have improved.

Multi: Killing Floor 1+2, Unturned, Minecraft, Battleblock Theatre, MWO, Primal Carnage, Minecraft, SW: Battlefront2 , Diablo 2, Torchlight 2, Hammerwatch, SSBM... and anything I can emulate or play with friends local/splitscreen.
Solo: Binding of Isaac, Prison Simulator, Eufloria, Dyad, the Polynomial, Zoo Tycoon, RCT.
Pubstomping is a whole different strategic discussion, however, and usually just becomes an exploration of the ethics of dumpstering randos.
Why mech game make when you no mech game have you don't want to make?

Elite: Dangerous
I like space sims and ED offers a good progression track as well as some fancy sound and graphics. It fails in balancing its modes and a good level of depth is missing, but they are adding new stuff with time.

Basically building stuff and make it efficient. If it is not perfect, it is not worth existing except for learning from mistakes.
Heathstone
A good game to play from time to time.
ARK
Dinosaurs!
Total War Rome II
I like the roman history ... well the ancient history in total. The Greek, the Romans, the Persians, etc.
Plus this culture is awesome. Way better than today's.

Is it good? I spent waaaaayyyy too much of my life on the 1st one (+ mods; Europa Barbarorum), but I only ever heard the 2nd was subpar.
I'm privy to the celtic and germanic tribes, myself.

9/10. Some little unlogic content (1 season equals one year?!) and sometimes bad design (100 soldiers run away from 10???). Excellent graphic, good performence, improved rounds, all major bugs got fixed (dumb AI before).
Very good unit balancing (with rome being a little bit too powerful ... but hey, it is ROOOOOOOOOOOOOME!).
And more stuff with DLCs (beasts of war, emperor edition, blood n gore, emperor edition ... oh, and emperor edition).
I highly recommend this game. Even after like 5-6 campaigns (all managed to win), I still have fun playing another one with another faction or maybe even the same again.

Yes, thank you so much. I was beginning to think this thread was going to be ALL pc games.
I was going to say Ace Combat 5. Why?
Gameplay: Sharp as nails
Soundtrack: Sublime
Story: Heartwrenching / Compelling
Pretty much everyone I've ever seen that's played Ace Combat (particularly 4, 5, or 0) has said they loved them. This series needs more attention.
